The UK has a hidden global megacity in northern England: a supercluster of cities with a combined population of nearly 12 million people. But what is holding it back from being a truly integrated megacity with a population and economy the size of several countries? youtu.be/Lcaxlbvryzo

New York's High line in Leeds? In this video I meet two people looking to convert a derelict railway viaduct to the south of Leeds into Yorkshire's answer to the New York Highline. This is a masterclass in bottom-up urbanism seeking to improve the way people live in UK cities. youtu.be/1AntYN2wnL8

Here's my latest video on the brilliant £1.2bn “Kings” development in Liverpool, which proposes 10 new buildings on a patch of land to the north of the city centre - one of which (at 70 storeys/222m) will be Liverpool’s new tallest building, and one of the tallest in the UK. youtu.be/0kENCjHXwEM

This is a bit of me. In Manchester they’re proposing to reinstate the facade of this old mill by removing the 1960s render which currently covers up this gorgeous red brick!

This absolutely lovely pocket park in Waterloo, enabled by narrowing the road here to widen the pavement. Certainly put a smile on my face walking past, and hopefully it’ll do the same for others too. #london #greenery #urbanism #biophilic

A Gothic-style office building... on Oxford Street? Here's my video about the outstanding redevelopment of London's 33 Cavendish Square (where BHS used to be). The interior ceilings are bringing some gothic joy back to modern architecture - and they're not simply artistic: youtu.be/O1gutWIX1a0?...
