I stopped pre-ordering AAA games a while back, and all this GTA VI nonsense reminds me why. Wishlist them and wait until they’re on sale. Was gutted to wake up to this news. Had a brief (and funny/weird) encounter with him at a comic con once. Seemed like a really sweet, gentle and good-humoured guy, so nothing like the brilliantly abrasive characters he is celebrated for. He was just terrific.

Finished re-playing the main story on Assassin’s Creed Unity over the weekend. It’s a great game and a hugely under-appreciated entry in the series. 18th century Paris still looks and feels stunning, and it’s even more impressive with the recent update.

I feel like you’d get a lot less out of Fallout season two if you haven’t played New Vegas. Everything is spread quite a bit thinner, there’s a hell of a lot of factions, and enough moving parts to make your head spin.

Picked up Amnesia: The Bunker for pennies. That creaky engine is really showing its age but, goddamn, it’s effectively scary and unbearably tense. It takes me right back to when I first played the original game years ago.

Honestly, the modern popularity of Halo perplexes me a bit. The original was a game-changer in bringing shooters to controllers, which had been unplayable shit until that point, but that’s it. Although we are indebted to its technical influence, it’s a dull, mediocre shooter with rubbish sci-fi.
