It had a chance to be interesting, and instead decided to be formulaically okay. Also, the villain is pirate who put wheels on his boat, so now he's a land pirate, so that's kinda fun~ 000

It really wasn't malicious or that deep; it just sort ballooned into "problematic in hindsight" as it got expanded and re-used. 000
