Behold, the greatest doodle of my giant magic nerd I've ever made. I've peaked, I've touched the summit, there is nothing left for me to do.

Lynda Barry did not squeeze your heart and simultaneously explain the point of all art with the barest of line drawings so you could tell me that AI is "inevitable."

HOW TO LOOK AT ART by Lynda Barry

In the first panel, a dog-headed woman, a mother, looks at a painting in the "Madonna with Baby Jesus" vein. A small blobby child is standing next to her.

Mother: IM NOT SURE HOW TO LOOK AT ART.
Child: WHATS SPOSTA HAPPEN?

In the second panel the dog-headed mother holds up her hands (paws?) trying to explain to the child.

Mother: SOMETHING BIG. A REVELATION.
SUDDENLY YOU JUST UNDERSTAND.

In the third panel dog-headed mother goes back to looking at the painting. The child holds up their arms to be lifted.

Mother: NOT SURE HOW TO MAKE IT HAPPEN
Child: HOW BOUT LIFT ME UP SO I CAN SEE BETTER

In the last panel, the dog-headed mother is holding the child, their position mirrored by the Madonna and baby Jesus in the painting.

So when I'm not being an art hermit (or a responsible-ish adult), I have a bunch of hobbies I like to engross myself in. One of them is gardening. Strawberry season is ending, but it was a very good year. #gardening #strawberries

Every time I have a minute and go back to this animation, I realize how little I know about frame-by-frame animation 🫠 …but still very eager to learn. ❤️ #animation #2Danimation #humanmade #fuckai #procreatedreams

You are too sweet (and so is everyone in the comments for their sweet words) but the animation is only as good as the art. 💖

Also, just a aside, I add halftones and such to my drawings just to stop thievery of any kind. Do I think it will actually be stolen? Nah. Do I like to make an attempt at protecting my work? Very much so.

Arrrrrg I need to divorce myself from it. I don't even post on it anymore. It's just a time sink. 🥲

You remember how I said I was gonna post art and then immediately ran away and didn’t post art for almost a month? …yea I’m sorry, I’m terrible. Here, have my favorite frame from the animation I’m creating to learn Procreate Dreams 2 @procreate.com

Funny you should say that, we were saying just a few days ago that our collective idea of Kyes voice to us is how Marisha Ray plays Beau in Mighty Nine but with a bit more of a controlled temperament 🤣

Almost a year since this was released, and since it's hard to find time to be ready with a toddler, I'm only just finishing reading. Just...hot damn, this has been such a ride! I'm sad I'm about to have no more story of these two to read 🥺 Give me book two already @clericofthevoid.bsky.social !!
