The last film in our giallo fest is Dario Argento’s masterpiece Tenebrae (1982), a meta-commentary on the genre and a brilliant, bloody, and gorgeous film in its own right - 30th March at Star & Shadow Cinema, tickets at www.ticketsource.co.uk/star-and-sha...

A woman stares in shock, eyes wide and mouth open, through a white cloth torn open to reveal her face

A black paperback book with the title 'Tenebrae' in streaky white block letters, held up against a fire in the background

An open straight razor lies on a wooden floor in a pool of blood

A medium close up of a woman with light skin and dark hair standing in the rain, screaming, her eyes shut and her hands clutching her head

The third film in our giallo festival is Death Carries a Cane, in which a photographer accidentally witnesses a murderer through a telescope - but soon begins to suspect the killer might be closer than she initially thought. Tickets: www.ticketsource.co.uk/star-and-sha...

A woman looks through a telescope, her face in a grimace as if struggling to see clearly.

A woman with long, straight, auburn hair stares in shock, eyes wide, at a framed picture clutched in her hands. She is wearing a blue velvet jacket over a white buttondown blouse, and stands in a room with a large, colourful painting behind her and an elephant statue in foreground.

A shot of a person in dark trousers and black shoes, standing with a cane, shown only from the knees down.

On 29th March we're showing A Lizard in a Woman's Skin: Full of strange and psychedelic dream sequences, it's a classic giallo story of an unreliable protagonist who may be delusional - or is she the victim of manipulative forces in her life? More info and tix: www.ticketsource.co.uk/star-and-sha...

A woman with light skin and dark hair tosses in her sleep while lying on white sheets, framed through the gold bars of a four-poster bed

Two figures with pale skin and shoulder-length dark hair drape their arms over a railing in a relaxed pose, their bodies hidden behind an artistically designed barrier of interlocking golden hexagons. Their eyes are white with no irises, and they smile subtly, with lips closed.

THE FIFTH CORD is a moody giallo strikingly shot by cinematographer Vittorio Storaro (The Conformist, Apocalypse Now) - we can't wait to watch it on the big screen. Sat 29th March at Star & Shadow Cinema: www.ticketsource.co.uk/star-and-sha...

A screenshot from the film The Fifth Cord. A white man with dark hair, sideburns, and a mustache sits at the wheel of a car, looking at a woman sitting in the passenger seat. She has dark, short hair and pale skin, and wears a thick white coat. There is a blue filter on the image and reflections from the lights in a building are seen in the windscreen glass.

Two hands with white rubber gloves reach out toward the camera, surrounded by darkness

A man in a coat, thrown into shadow, walks down a staircase in a concrete building; most of the frame is completely dark, with only a narrow triangle illuminated to reveal a grey wall and a door at the bottom of the stairs
