The MA Senate just passed S.3164, a bill I filed to help protect kids from the most addictive features of social media — algorithmic feeds, autoplay, infinite scroll — that platforms use to keep kids scrolling. Details here!

Happy Arbor Day! Last week, the Massachusetts Senate passed the Mass Ready Act to deliver major investments in climate resilience across the Commonwealth. I was proud the Senate passed two amendments I filed to protect and expand our tree canopy and modernize our public shade tree law.

It was a pleasure to spend time with Rick Cole, a former Brookline resident and truly remarkable athlete. At 92, Rick recently took home a gold medal in the Massachusetts Senior Games ski event—an event he’s been competing in for more than 20 years. Congratulations, Rick!

Today, I was thrilled to join the residents and staff at @2lifeopus to celebrate my constituent, Phil Schwartz, who turns 105 this week! It was an honor to present Phil with an official Senate citation in recognition of his remarkable life and service as a World War II veteran.

I’m proud to share that the networked geothermal project I helped launch in Framingham is now doubling in size with new federal funding. This is a major step forward for clean, community-based energy solutions in Massachusetts.

I joined the Terezín Music Foundation in honoring Dr. Kevin & Caron Tabb for their extraordinary commitment to education & Holocaust remembrance. TMF’s work preserving the music & stories of composers imprisoned in the Terezín concentration camp is profoundly important - I was honored to join them.

Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting the new site of the Newton Food Pantry — a space that will help expand their vital work supporting families across Newton. When national food assistance programs face uncertainty, local partnerships like this remind us what community resilience looks like.

Today I testified in support of S.1386, An act to transfer Bridgewater State Hospital from the DOC to the Department of Mental Health. BSH should be managed like the mental health facility it is - where treatment and healing are prioritized, and where residents are treated as patients not inmates.

The Senate has passed the Massachusetts Data Privacy Act — a bill I filed that would give our residents some of the strongest data privacy protections in the nation. Check out some of the features of S.2608 below! Your data belongs to you. #YourDataYourRights

Grateful to @bostonglobe.com for highlighting why Massachusetts must finally adopt the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act. As the only state still holding out, we’re failing families, especially children and left-behind parents, when custody disputes cross state lines.

This morning, I joined Congressman Auchincloss & Rep. Vitolo at The Butcherie to stand in solidarity with the Brookline & Jewish communities following an act of antisemitic vandalism. We must meet this moment with unity, not fear, & work toward a future rooted in safety, dignity, & respect for all.

This week, the Senate adjourned in honor of Katharine “Kitty” Dukakis—born in Brookline and remembered across the Commonwealth as a lifelong advocate. We were honored to be joined by former Gov. Michael Dukakis and their son, John, as we reflected on Kitty’s remarkable legacy.
