My dad was raised Catholic and abandoned his faith at age 12 when a nun told him he’d already committed so many sins he was never getting in to Heaven. He was like, “what’s the point?” He baptized his kids as Catholic to please his mother but never took us to Mass or enrolled us in catechism.
