Radish will eternally be one of my favorite things that #mxtx has ever gifted to the world how his ❤️ & soul stayed bright despite entering the 🌍 in ashes bc he was utterly loved through it & then utterly loved into his teens out of regret & reminiscence #mdzs #TheUntamed #CQL #cdrama #danmei

Episodes 34 - 35 - 36 of #AgainstTheCurrent #cdrama just........wow Holy cats y'all There is no saggy middle Every episode builds on the last & sets up the next There should be Oprah car levels of awards: "a Golden Rooster for ~you~ a Golden Rooster for ~you~ Golden Roosters for EVERYONE!"

The overlays on #LanWangJi robes was one of my favorite things about #CQL #TheUntamed I loved his turquoise in a robe, shutting through pale, thin outer But y’all... Look at the pattern on the gauze in his outer robes Holy **** It's ~fans~ #mdzs #mdzs #cdrama #danmei

LWJ looking like the Twin Jade of Gusu he is... with pale turquoise in a robes with a thin white outer robe.. he’s standing on that hill we all know and love

Reposting cause this entire scene is burned in my subconscious So much was unsaid but understood on multiple levels there aren’t very many #cdrama out there that shows a communion of souls in a quiet space just like this #mdzs #mxtx #TheUntamed #CQL #wangxian #danmei

Taking James' question & going in a direction y'all can see a mile away: if you had a friend completely new to historical cdramas, which accessible but genuinely good #cdrama would you recommend as a starting point? 🤔 #AgainstTheCurrent #NirvanaInFire #NewLifeBegins #TheStoryOfMinglan #JoyofLife

So it's been a few days & I can tell you My son is still in non remission melanoma (but has been doing great). But he has had a goiter w Hashimoto's Thyroid for years & his melanoma dug down super fast & touched his lungs He's had a cough since June. Pulmonary tried for biologic shots & CPAP 👇🏼

I just figured out something Jinqi also planned out in #AgainstTheCurrent #cdrama The other reason why he left for the capital for years is so they wouldn’t have the constant pressure from the family @ a baby So they would have time to get there But sad if she doesn’t pop out a boy first....

I've loved reading deep dives into #AgainstTheCurrent #cdrama & that the writers went there First: an explanation of the history & poetry behind beans & stalks from the ~Three Kingdoms~ period Kudos, again, to Cyn-Lynn for this AND it's use in #PursuitOfJade (MORE FUN STUFF IN NEXT POST 👇🏼)

煮豆燃豆其（zhii dou ran dou qi）

This is the opening line of the famous "Seven-Step Poem" (t* ) traditionally attributed to Cao Zhi during the Three Kingdoms period.

The metaphor is about members from the same family harming each other. The beans and the stalks come from the same plant, yet one is used to burn the other.

(According to the story, Cao Pi forced his brother Cao Zhi to compose a poem in seven steps or face execution. Cao Zhi came up with this poem, using the beans and stalks to suggest that brothers born from the same root shouldn't persecute each other.) The full poem.

煮豆燃豆萁

Boiling beans, using bean stalks as the firewood.

豆在釜中泣

The beans cry inside the pot.

本是同根生

We were originally born from the same root.

相煎何太急

Why must you burn me so fiercely?

Why I LOLed.

I immediately remembered Pursuit of Jade: Fan Chang Yu reinterpretation:

煮豆燒豆稈

Boiling beans using bean stalks.

豆在鍋裡喊

The beans are AHHH-ing in the pot.

同是一個爹

We've got the same dad!

為啥先殺俺

Whysha you gotta kill me first?!

FCY and her sister looking up at you with a mouth full..chopsticks paused

I had a feeling that the edits of #AgainstTheCurrent were going to be stellar With so much to work with, how could they not? ❤️ #cdrama

There is this excellent exchange in Episode 33 between ML & MF where she's explaining how a wife can't leave/divorce her husband & LJQ, I swear, is standing there weighing that statement & nodding internally "yeah...at least I have that" You can watch in real time #AgainstTheCurrent #cdrama

🎉🥳 I have to agree This #cdrama is so good that I would replace #NirvanaInFire or #NewLifeBegins as a perfect intro to #cdrama It respects your intelligence It addresses some of the same themes as #FlourishedPeony but (IMHO) better Every scene/lines propels the next or future #AgainstTheCurrent
