This paper tackles the question of how we disentangle neighborhood socioeconomic status from an individual's SES. Using Illinois survey data, the paper finds that living in a disadvantaged neighborhood predicts physical impairment, but individual SES matters more. Revisit this paper at the link!

My first solo-authored article is out in City & Community! I find that areas with one more residential development permit have 2.7% more low-level arrests in the following year, controlling for crime, calls for service, area demographics, and year effects. doi.org/10.1177/1535...
