The Tialla-Seteth supports are my favourite I’ve seen so far. I love Cai’s little band of shounen protagonists, they’re all so sweet

Dietrich: Show up, Tialla calls him hot, he has the world’s weirdest dynamic with Fabio, says he wants to fight a child, then spends the rest of the part standing around Dagsion talking about how much he wants to kill people or something

Leda: Seems fairly normal at first, soon starts talking about how much she hates when children have a happy life, spends the rest of the part standing around Dagsion talking about how much she loves revenge

I’ve only played Cai’s Part 1 so far (I’m busy rn) and the impression you get of the other protags is so funny Theodora: introduced punching a child. Somehow still the most normal of the three, even including that time she went berserk and raised the dead or something

I think it’s awful when people are detained by ice. Absolutely nobody deserves it and ice as an agency should be razed to the ground. … … however,

“Do you know how many times Joker alone has died? He’s been shot, in the electric chair, had his neck snapped… One time I tried to find out who he was and there turned out to be three of him. I’ve come to the conclusion that even if I ever killed him the universe would bring him back somehow.”

Yeah that was my qualm with it too. At least Echoes of Wisdom mostly actually starred Zelda even if they did give her the ability to change into Link for some reason

This is something I like about Worm. It’s a story with a lot of problems but the protagonist has the power to control bugs and boy does she control the hell out of some bugs

000

CIAS 🏳️‍⚧️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 @cias.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

Yeah I love deliberately mixing phrases like that. Still hoping I get a good opportunity to use “You’ve opened your can of worms, now lie in it” one day

Oh yeah, I used to do that when I was like 13? Buy about 5 boxes, take the tops off them, and then pour them all into my mouth. I wouldn’t recommend it though.

It’s so good. Might be my new favourite chapter tbh. I’ve seen people complain about it being less main story focused than 4 but I love more character focused stuff personally The Dark World cast were so fun

I’d like to mention that I highly recommend this studio’s previous game, Paradise Killer - an open world murder mystery game with an even more insane setting than PMA. It’s a great exploration of a world with a fun aesthetic and interesting characters!

Just came across this episode, having not heard your podcast before, and I really enjoyed it! PMA is a super fun game. I really liked Koke-Maru, and (minor spoilers for Oh’s story) I really liked Oh’s plotline, discussing how people are wired differently and the implication that Michi may be ace

CIAS 🏳️‍⚧️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 @cias.bsky.social · 26/05/2026

Yeah that’s unsurprising. There’s a long British tradition of saying “At least we’re not as bad as America” while being in many ways worse than America - just in a slightly different way. I sadly live in an area that voted p heavily for Reform recently and some of the people here are the worst

080

CIAS 🏳️‍⚧️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 @cias.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

I think it’s even funnier with the resolution to the story. If it were “Majima looks for magic cure and finds it isn’t real” it might be a little poignant (in a way). But “Majima looks for a magic cure and finds it is real but he just couldn’t get any” is so insanely stupid that it’s just comical

It’s also why Bonsly is called that - he’s a sly bonsai! They gave Sudowoodo some fun behaviour changes in some of the games too. I know in Legends Arceus that if it notices the player it’ll suddenly stiffen and try to pretend to be a tree, even though it was walking around before lol

If I were RGG, I don’t think I could have made worse choices if I tried. Removing most of the substories, bizarrely retconning the ending, casting a sex pest… some of these choices don’t even seem to make sense from a craven money-seeking perspective? It’s such a disappointment

Like, this latest thing surely must be setting up for certain things to happen in Y9 that will tie it to Kiryu and his antagonists even more. Can’t imagine why they’d do it otherwise, unless they’re planning to actively change the main story of future Kiwami games

021

CIAS 🏳️‍⚧️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 @cias.bsky.social · 23/01/2026

I can only assume that the backlash to 7 was much larger in Japan or something, because 7 felt like a real breath of fresh air and yet every game since has seemed more and more determined to mine nostalgia from Kiryu’s story and characters

One of my favourite lines in the film is Luthor saying ‘We finally meet’ to Superman like halfway through. Just seeing him do all this shit to get at Superman and then the gut punch of finding out he’s literally *never even met the guy* is so good

Two damage is broadly fine but I think the one issue with it is mask shards. They kept the exact same system with mask shards that Hollow Knight had and it just feels worse to track down 4 (pretty hard to find) collectibles for what is, in many circumstances, not actually a functional HP increase
