Like theoretically you can dress it in full level 5 armor but at that point it's gonna be ~150 thousand dollars worth of armor protecting a 75 thousand dollar robot

The basic design concept in-universe is "how cheaply can we make a combat robot so that it still can perform its task" and the solution was to offload most of the actual combat capabilities to cheap equipment made for humans
