This is how we made bytecode interpreters in Java competitive with state of the art assembly tuned C interpreters. They partially evaluate like Truffle interpreters at the same time! Integrated in GraalPy, GraalWasm and Crema! Soon in GraalJS! Great work by Yudi Zheng!

Exactly. As a coder the extensions feel limited compared to just using a coding harness, but as a non coder you get a completely new capability. It definitely has its limits though and I don't think we understand those well enough.

The extension points are designed by regular coders w. review. It is essential that these extensions do not allow arbitrary access to your machine. As in the example, you should be very explicit about which capabilities you expose. There is a guide in the docs: graalvm.github.io/graal-script...

The prompts are intended to be written by non-devs. If the result needs to be reviewed, then this defeats the point. We want to give users the ability to personalize their application in a safe way and also save money developing/reviewing these extensions. Without the involvement of the devs.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes this is a very important sentence. It does not work for all kinds of plugins because of that, but I think for a surprisingly big subset.

Das perfekte Behandlungskonzept gibt es bei ME/CFS ohnehin nicht. Deswegen müssen wir uns trauen auch etwas zu versuchen. Manche Bundesländer fangen endlich an zu handeln. Daraus kann man lernen und verbessern. Aber aktuell fehlt es überall an den Basics! Da muss man wirklich nicht diskutieren.

Just giving people free time is not enough. I think we should foster the culture of volunteering more. Build infrastructure to make it easier and broader. Build spaces to explore. Some of the richest life experiences can come from that and it can make our society stronger and more connected.
