I have the Ibanez AWD102NT model of this guitar. The AWD is on the right while the guitar on thee left is its cousin the AS103NT. Both guitars are 20 years old.

She now has two pieces of chicken out of her bowl. And after taking this photo she finally ate both pieces and has gone for thirds.
Bennie the white chihuahua mix with tan ears and long hair here and there, arranges two pieces of chicken on a pillow (her pillow). She is eating neither of them.

Video: Bennie plays with her food. I got her some of the “human grade” dog food they sell at the store and she’s suspicious of it. In the video, she is sitting on her pillow and taking quick stabs at the piece of chicken with her paws or her mouth, but she’s not eating it (yet).

Robin Trower, front row, right in front of his amp set to 11.
Concert ticket stub for Robin Trower at the Springfield (Mass) Civic Center. Because there were no seats on the floor and because I got there really early, I was able to snag the very front right at thew stage, facing Robin Trower’s amp, set to 11.

Wish I still had this Ibanez 2351 Fancy Les Paul Studio copy. Circa late 1978. Everything except the neck and body are upgrades done at the Ibanez factory. The story goes that Ibanez was using up the last of its Les Paul copy parts by combining them with the hardware from its new Performer series.
An Ibanez Les Paul copy, model 2351, with “Fancy” upgrades to the tuners, pickups, bridge, tail, and even knobs. The finish is a tea burst, called “Antique Violin” in the Ibanez catalog.

No need to link to this article. I’m just here to say that if you showed this headline to a true Rush fan from 50 years ago they would cringe in horror. Then again, maybe they’d think that THE FUTURE had finally come to pass and that it was a cool and great place to be.

Gotta love a white Strat with a maple neck.
A Fernandes Burny Olds Stratocaster copy, circa 1976, with a white body (aged to cream), white pickguard, and a maple neck. It also has a bullet truss rod and a micro tilt neck, just like the actual Fender guitars had back then.

I got to see ZZ Top front row at the same hockey rink the next Spring. I nearly died from the crush of that crowd. Top had to cancel the Springfield show on their big tour so this was a makeup gig on a Tuesday. We drove their early and were first in line at the door.

I had front row (general admission) seats to a Trower concert in 1977. Those stacks were so loud I couldn’t hear the bass, drums, or singing for the entire concert. It was fantastic.

He might as well add, “on Mars.”
Elon Xitter post:

Before this year ends, Grok Imagine will make a full-length movie of The Odyssey that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer

My suggestion is to add “on Mars.” to that statement.

• I WISH I WAS AN AVIATOR

Takamine’s commitment to looking good goes along with their commitment to sounding good. At least back when their instruments came exclusively from Japan, they did.
A headstock for an acoustic guitar made by Takamine & Co. in the 1970s. The company is Japanese and it sold acoustic guitars that looked almost exactly like various American models (like CF Martin or Guild) except with logos that matched the style but not the name of the American company. Hence the Takamine headstock above looks at first as if it is from a CF Martin guitar.

A QuakeFeed map of last night’s earthquakes in Oak Harbor, about ten miles from me as the crow flies (20 by road). The map shows five total quakes: A precursor? of 2.4 followed by the big quake of 3.8 and three smaller aftershocks.

Dis-gusting. It’s supposed to make a cool whip style topping, but I was trying it straight into my coffee instead of heavy cream. Ugh. They have a shit ton of it at Safeway. No one seems to be buying it. Now I know why.

Something I had to come to grips with as an older guitar collector is that my children simply do not want to inherit an entire collection of guitars they will only have to sell. Right now, just one of my guitars has dibbs called on it by one of my kids, and it’s not worth anything to collectors.
A Kent (made in Japan) bass that has been entirely redone in terms of electronics and pickups. It also features a painted body (done by me) of an amalgam of iconic Western desert scenes with cactus and buttes in the distance. There is also a tiny plastic lizard visible underneath the clear pickguard.

In 1978 I really wanted an Alembic or BC Rich, and this Musician fit the bill (and I could afford it with a trade in).
