Two things about McCovey. I witnessed him hitting the ball over the Shea Stadium scoreboard (I don't remember the year, sometime in the '60s). Never, ever, saw that feat accomplished again. Second, concerning the 1962 World Series, just two feet higher!!

I loved playing floor hockey as a child. As my skating skills were atrocious when I was young, it gave me an opportunity to play the sport I love without making a fool of myself. One rule I remember was the stick blade had to remain below the knee (no Bobby Hulls here!).

"Gentleman Jean", a great player! As for Esposito, I remember a banner in the Boston Garden saying "Jesus saves, Espo scores on the rebound". He was a Ranger in the late 70's, but I hated the trade as Park and Ratelle went to Boston. The following year, the Rangers sent Middleton for Hodge :(
