I find it hilarious that the man with a sunny-D spray tan in the White House has claimed now that the Great Depression would have been averted with tariffs. It’s almost as if the Smoot-Hawley tariff act wasn’t the nail in the coffin that made that depression so great.

It’s a really interesting place for me somewhere between 3 and 4. Because I get a vague fuzzy version of everything but I can flesh it out more conceptually in ways that feel surreal. Definitely gives me inspiration as a writer to see things in the kind of underdeveloped film snapshots I do.

A general rule of thumb that people need to remember when discussing difficult topics. If your conversational partner is stating their viewpoints clearly and concisely and you’re refusing to elaborate to your own reasonings, you’re not “winning,” you’re not a “master debater,” you’re just dumb.

People who act like that really feel like they often don’t know what it’s like to suffer. I grew up very poor, every little political decision economically had a huge effect on whether we’d feel comfortable or be barely scraping by. It shows when people didn’t have to consider things like that.

As someone with two older siblings who are both Millennials, this is the behavior I’ve always looked up to. Nowadays I’m old enough to see how I’ve been protected from that and can try my best to stand up with them to push back against it, and it makes me even more grateful.

For what it’s worth, I agree with the outrage and the sentiment of many of those who seek moral superiority. I just don’t think that ignoring the avenues of minimizing the pain and death works to that goal of higher ethical behavior.

It’s not as if there aren’t many valid reasons to be critical of the Democratic Party, the inactions, the incompetence and the greed within. But change takes time, and I’d rather fight to reform the government with Dems in power instead of the fascist goons currently in power.

Simply put, if you’re given a choice between parties in most countries, you’re voting between multiple groups that support different crimes against humanities. It’s a problem I won’t make excuses for, but we’re dealing with harm on an even larger scale now from that quarter of the population.

I’m so happy to see any media taking inspiration from the rich folklore of the US. The blend of Native American stories, old world myths tweaked a little and the tall tales of lumberjacks created a wonderful anthropological trove to work with.

It certainly doesn’t help that there are people all over trying to drive a wedge between Gen Z and the Millennials. We should all be able to recognize just how much Millennials have been shafted and how much worse it is that it keeps going on. Us in Gen Z are just feeling what you have for ages.
