A chubby Valstrax from Monster Hunter just landed on an unsuspecting bystander and the dragon shows surprise and worry by it. The bystander appears okay but only their legs and one hand signaling they’re still alive are sticking out, the rest smushed under the belly of the weighty dragon.

Older take of the animation with the reference side-by-side for those curious. I often animate with the ref plane in the same scene, recreating the same camera angle and will then find better staging later. This is just to nail the those sweet, sweet body mechanics.

This concludes my Monster Hunter World and of course, Monster Hunter Rise painting studies. Brachydios, Nargacuga, and Malzeno. These were completed last year and seeing the progression between these few and the past ones is astonishing to me!
