Alex Scott was majestic again for #afcb. Rather than just being technically excellent, he’s now starting to run games as well. Uses his body really well, wants the ball in tight areas, and has brilliant awareness & passing range. It won’t just be Chelsea that are watching.

A minor point in the maelstrom of England disappointment, but the under-employment of Ollie Watkins at this tournament feels odd. A 6 minute cameo vs Panama. Last night felt like his moment. A willing runner as Kane (who’d gone 120 mins in the Miami heat 4 days prior) had faded.

If Tuchel has used the Mexico & Norway games as a blueprint for success - and it feels like he has - then it’s either naive, or a glaring error. England were fortunate that both of those games didn’t go to pens. They didn’t ask a single question of Argentina after Gordon’s goal.

So much makes sense about Iraola to Liverpool. Richard Hughes a huge fan (recruited him at #afcb), & progressive style of play will fit well with many of existing core. Don’t think Iraola was necessarily chasing a ‘big job’, but when #LFC come knocking, it’s impossible to say no.
