In your view is 'lightweight charlatan' a good thing or a bad thing? If it's bad why are you giving the time of day to Gove? Next week: a jolly chat with Rupert Lowe.

There is no version of reality in which I would listen to a vindictive bigot who takes pleasure in punching down at the vulnerable. Tells us a lot about your moral compass.

Isn't this downstream from a failure to nail down an agreed definition of conscious? I'm not buying "there's something it's like to be conscious". I'm not buying anything that isn't an emergent property of the brain. But these debates aren't settled yet. Also: pan-psychism - my arse.

You have to proactively define your folders, define default locations for saving and, in the name of all that is holy, give your files informative names (ie not Document Final v2).

Aah. The firm that changed their name after the Polly Peck scandal. And had to pay a fine, and give extra training to their audit partners.

Pure speculation: he sincerely believed that the country was not broken and therefore what was needed was more competent administration of the status quo, to be achieved by putting the right people in charge. Therefore a shopping list of technocratic interventions was all that was needed.

Doesn't mean there that most English people aren't descended from at least the Indo Europeans of the third millennium BC, if not earlier.

Surely at least part of this is about ownership. What differentiates, say, the FT or the Guardian from, say, the Times or the Mail is who and how they are owned. Thinking of the press as journalists seeking the truth rather than owners seeking influence might not always be the best way to understand

What does ethnicity mean? Race has been debunked as a legitimate category. So is ethnicity smuggling it back in? Otherwise is ethnicity just culture? In what sense do I have the same culture as Jacob Rees-Mogg? You're English if you claim to be.

Good to see a Labour minister pushing back and disagreeing with people. Standing up for what you believe and a making an argument is better than constantly trying to avoid disagreement. Some people are just wrong and you're right to say so.

Do you know anybody in government? Maybe you could persuade them to your view. I don't like seeing thugs on the streets of my country, and I'm not going to vote for a party that shrugs and looks away. You know they're coked-up wife beaters, not protesters with legitimate concerns Act accordingly

In 1976/77 some liked punk and some didn't. And then punk (apparently) changed everything. You then had a generation of journos paralysed by the fear of missing the next big thing, or being caught liking the terminally uncool. They couldn't just say what they thought. Until Smash Hits stopped caring

I sincerely believe that I have more in common with people with a bme background in my street or in my office than I do with wealthy old Etonians. What is it about 20 years of economic stagnation that makes him want to argue that race is more important than class, I wonder?

I've voted in every election I've ever been eligible to so happy with compulsory voting. I would, though, like to table an amendment. I'd like a "none of the above" option. If it came first, the election would be rerun with different candidates. I fear being co-opted into a consensus I don't share

Being bad for the organisation is not the same as being bad for individuals making decisions. Some people might see a life after the BBC.
