Being rather shorter than you I’m not in a position to comment. Suffice to say I had plenty of room to stretch out.

Giving up my social media break to let you know I’m living the 2010s glamour dream on the Stena Hollandica. See you in Prague!

Day 1 teaching 'Making Sense of EU Politics' on the University of Cambridge International Summer Programme. Great bunch 25 very engaged students. Today's topic was the history of European integration. Relaxing in the grounds of Selwyn College, where the grass is in need of some rain.

Meanwhile I sang Smith and Gibbons this evening, so I was at least in the right period.

Had a great few days in Lille for the European Universities Continuing Education Network conference. Always helpful to be reminded of the value of sharing experiences and insights with colleagues elsewhere.

I much prefer a room with moveable (proper) tables and (proper) chairs that can be reconfigured to meet the needs of the class (of course returning the room to the layout depicted in the poster next to the door so not to upset the aforementioned Director of Estates).
010
Christopher Huggins @christopherhuggins.bsky.social · 07/04/2025
These chairs are the worst. Around a third in any given space are in a perpetual state of disrepair. They’re uncomfortable and provide no meaningful writing space. Often too many crammed into a room due to the ‘space utilisation’ algorithm, the logic of which is known only to the Director of Estates

Very sad to see this. @ukandeu.bsky.social has, and continues to, put out important work on UK-EU relations which is rigorous and accessible, and is a model of how social science research can inform public debate. Proud to have played a small part with the post-Brexit fisheries governance research
