Why do we permit manufacture of a product we don't need that kills the workers who make it? Nationally, 1000s of workers who fabricate kitchen countertops from engineered stone have silicosis. There is a safe substitute available. Like Australia, we should ban this product. @karenmg.bsky.social

So I was just reading on Westlaw. Several articles mention gravity being 9.8 meters per second squared. None of them mention friction. I think I found a gap in the literature to write about. No need to read any physics papers. I'll just cite some people I'm trying to impress. #Satire

Rough sleeping to be decriminalised in England and Wales. 1824 law to be repealed. About time. Must attend to causes of homelessness - poverty, power of landlords, low benefits. Must provide public shelters for those on hard times, reintegrate people on hard times.

🇪🇺 75 Years of the Schuman Declaration 🇪🇺 On 9 May 1950, Robert Schuman put forward a bold idea: unite Europe by pooling coal and steel production to make war ‘not merely unthinkable, but materially impossible.’
Photo of Robert Schuman, standing in the centre, was taken on 20 June 1950, at the opening of the intergovernmental negotiations for the implementation of the Schuman Plan. It is generally used to illustrate the declaration of 9 May 1950 as no photographer was present at the original press conference. Photo of Robert Schuman.

The potential turn in copyright laws is intriguing. But the question remains: how can we generally ensure the data is verifiable enough to make any review actually meaningful? As Charles Babbage warned: garbage in, garbage out, and that applies to AI as much as it did to punch cards. #AIRegulation
