I’m so excited to ring in the Year of the Snake with the cover for ‘The Beat of the Dragon Boat’, a picture book about the Dragon Boat Festival. Brought to life by the gorgeous illustrations of @painternik.bsky.social and inspired by my visits to Stanley Beach in Hong Kong! 🐉🧧

Green and gold dragon head carved into the prow of a dragon boat.

For my very first post, I'd like to congratulate my friend and fellow SCBWI HK writer @rituhemwrites.bsky.social on her upcoming MG novel in verse, Lion of the Sky. It's a moving account of a young boy living through the Partition of India. I can't wait to see the final book.
