I have taken a long break from socials and was only on them sparingly as my mental had declined to such a point I didn't think I would escape the hole my brain put me in, I needed to regroup. But I'm definitely going to try and be more active this year 💜🖤

It's rare that I have to pull a post due to toxicity but I made ONE joke post about the "booktok bros" discussion & I've never received THAT much vitriol over a short period of time. Like I took a nap and it must've hit the wrong side to where I started getting called every name & my looks shredded.

Go to read a new ARC (Book 2 in a duology) and this is one of the first things I see 👏👏👏 THANK YOU! I LOVE a good memory jogger and wish all authors did this!

It's super disheartening to see that dude getting a 2 book trad publish deal, when he hasn't even written a book yet, he just pitched an idea and has virality on his side. Especially considering there are people from marginalized identities who are extremely talented & have been querying forever.

Anytime I see someone with a 💩 take I'm just gonna post clown music and point out at least one of the trinity (SJM, Kate Stewart, Elle Kennedy) proudly displayed on their shelves, because it never fails. Bonus points if HP is there as well.

I should be trying to get some sleep, but he just tied her wrists together and put them over his neck so that she would actually get some sleep instead of trying to seduce him... Reading before bed never fails to keep me up

I've been knee deep in all types of romance books lately, feel it's time to bust out my comfort erotic horror 🖤 Mine has everything from brutal scene to some of the most beautiful prose I've ever read, especially in the horror genre. Be sure to check the warnings though as they're no joke!

The readers currently raging and throwing fits over authors protecting their spaces are the same people that wouldn't understand the message in Sleep Token's Caramel. You cannot convince me otherwise.

I wanna make cute book stack pics, but then I remember half my books are boxed up in totes while we wrap up building my library out 😢

I'm just sayingggg the author doing the cowrite with Joe Arden has been on my radar after they blocked me over a year ago for calling out one of their "besties" bookish businesses for unethical business practices...sooooo yeah 🤷‍♀️ this is not a super surprising turn of events

I don't know, I just heard the words "If you stomach feels weak, then my work here is done" by Chiodos in 2005 and decided to make that my life's motto 🤷‍♀️

I need a book with the same feel as El Tango de Roxanne from Moulin Rouge.

My bookish hot take is that books with an all straight non-LGBTQ+ cast are boring. Like give me some sapphic, give me some achillian, give me bi, demi, give me anythingggg but 2 straight cis people and the book instantly becomes more entertaining.

Did I really DNF a book 6 pages in? Yes. Because continuity issues are my biggest pet peeve. What do you mean she pulled the dagger from it's sheath and then, just 3 paragraphs later, she pulls that same dagger again without having put it back? Call me Lucifer, because the devil's in the details.

Jesse Lacey (formerly of Brand New) should have been boo'd off that stage last night. Stop giving grace to people who committed SA. NO amount of nostalgia is worth replatforming them.

If you're willing to pay $70/mo to hear a man live read a book, who is clearly just capitalizing thirst traps & having you fancast him as a book boyfriend, you may need to be smacked upside the head a little bit. Also, Penelope better be getting a cut of that if their book is being read for profit 👀

Uh hey guys...remember when we said "they will come for your romance books"? Yeahhh spoiler, romance books ARE a "depiction" or else they wouldn't have had to also include the wording of "image and film" (which is also an awful puritanical thing to do & I am 100% against this ban in all it's facets)

Image is a screenshot of proposed bill in Oklahoma, SB 593.

I'm just saying, I want more books where the FMC is the hundreds/thousands year old one while the MMC is the regular human, think the Arwen & Aragorn age-gap. I'm tired of her being the clueless, gotta learn everything person. 😅

The artwork in the Target "exclusive" Onyx Storm being work that's been featured on BroadSword before 👀, nothing original about it. And y'all were sobbing and crying over not getting that?!

I don't want to hear 💩 about Haunting Adeline people anymore. At least they didn't fully crash out and put screaming/crying videos on the internet when they were unable to get the special editions like these Onyx Storm people are currently doing.

Wait, you're telling me someone who knows nothing about the romance world & made a 40 min video 💩ing on romance readers, didn't do a modicum of research & said a well known HORROR EROTICA was a Dark Romance?! Like geez if you're gonna 💩 on romance readers at least make sure its the right genre.
