We should bring back the system where households just keep artists and eccentrics in their households as guests indefinitely. Get some patron systems going on. Where did the social pressure on the wealthy go? Isn't it their job to make the arts happen?

But I am not sure ... Maybe that doesn't apply the same across everyone

I don't think that it ends up being a good cycle because brains generally like challenge, but challenge that we have chosen rather than challenge thrust upon us. So I imagine we end up in a negative feedback loop when we take safe simple things over new interesting things because we are burned out

I have not, but it looked like a fun problem so I did a small amount of research. It looks like to problem is the way that unity interacts with the operating system. I am finding that you have to write a driver or bridge to handle it. There does appear to be unity assets that handle it.

Would someone be willing to explain the claim that the refs were unfair and how true those claims are? The article barely touches on it and I feel that is an interesting piece of this story

I can even be ok with not being able to download something in perpetuity. Companies go under, licences change. But I should get ample warning and support to claim the media I purchased so I can store it. I should never ever lose something because a company de-lists and doesn't tell me early enough

I mean.... Duh? But there are laws against certain measures in contracts and some things that are in contracts can't be enforced. There isn't anything wrong with complaining about the need for, or organizing people to ask for, better consumer protections around digital media

christianboyd.bsky.social @christianboyd.bsky.social · 27/06/2026
We get it... The company wrote a shitty anti consumer clause and you think that each individual should fully read every one of those licences and should chose not to purchase digital. Regardless it is a shitty thing for companies to do and I would rather tell companies they cannot do this thru law

I am loving this game. I just wish I agreed on the difficulty of the categories. Very hard to order these when I am finding most of the hard categories easier than the easy categories

The Wii U was out for a few years before I realized it was a different console. I spent most of that time ignoring it because I thought it was just a hand held add on to the existing Wii. I think the Wii U is a prime example of a marketing failure

Different domains have different definitions. In government, power is largely boiled down to having the ability to enact policy and achieve goals

They definitely don't seem to be motivated around people right now. For all the talk people give to the value of employees, they seem like an after thought

Similarly with wind it could be used to capture energy created via friction, however it is much more likely that in the case of wind it would just convert excess energy into heat, and this ends up being positive due to how cheap a sand battery is and home much we can store

A byproduct of most forms of energy gathering. In the case of a fossil fuel most turbines are combusting a material to then heat liquid to move a turbine. In the case of solar it can be gathered directly by converting all energy to heat or just excess heat via some heat pump cooling setup

This ultimately comes down to the fact that bad Christian music POPS because it is so bad, good Christian music is just good music that happens to have religious themes. It would be nice if the community that consumes modern Christian music was discerning and had taste

There are more jobs in the entertainment industry than screen actor. Those are also often brutal careers with high competition, but let's not minimize the arts down to only the most visible

On certain comparisons, things are the same. But at the same time you cannot claim that the Democrats have the same disregard the the laws and systems they work within, or that they are actively inciting violence or directing unconstitutional police actions. They aren't angels, but not the same

... Allow game companies to establish Minimum Viable Products for their games. You have to draw a line somewhere and say the project is done. But it is weird. Binding of Isaac was far less enjoyable and much shorter on release, but continues to receive content all these years later. A bit different

I think that unfinished games is a loaded term, and maybe isn't fair to use in the case of bg3. The game was playable from beginning to end, was enjoyable for most people, and had limited game breaking issues. Yes, the post release content made the game better, more fleshed out. But we need to ...

I know nothing about the game, but I imagine that once you placed this, they just wouldn't? Maybe you can do something fun by baiting people in with Smaug ahunt and then have Smaug return?it does feel very situational

My guesses are it is a bit flat in the plane the character is walking and the height within most of the layers is fairly uniform, and the black outline is potentially overpowering. I think it is working in some of the layers and the tree, but it feels too heavy elsewhere

I can only imagine with the premise and this title that the book is the tragic story of a tree gaining locomotion only to have truly horrible things happen (as a result of being able to walk), and that is why trees never learned to walk

I have never expected a developer to respond to a steam discussion. I consider it to be community space to discuss. I think it is awesome that you are trying to address conversations, but I think that is why there isn't functionality for tracking which you have responded to

Comparing Hei Hei to Jar Jar is cruel to Hei Hei. He is just an innocent chicken who accidentally is competent and useful... Which does sound a lot like Jar Jar... But he was more annoying, or accidentally annoying? Not sure what is making the difference for me

Concept: You essentially suggested groceries be organized like libraries. Libraries have book promotions where they set out groupings of books based on ideas rather than standard categorization. Conclusion? Maybe you don't want to take this away, these just also exist in the proper place
