What started as “please remember my dev ports” became an SNI router that hands the original TLS socket to Phoenix—no TLS termination, no relay, real client IP. Inspired by Chris McCord and enabled by @mtrudel.bsky.social 's Bandit/Thousand Island. cookbook.geuer-pollmann.de/elixir-beam/...

Well, I guess knowledge without action is just a waste of time. Unless we grow the balls to stop these fuckers, I’m not sure AI helps. Politicians must be willing to take action, I guess the people on the ground know pretty well who should be stopped, also without fancy AI

Added two commands (running / discover) to github.com/chgeuer/phx-port phx-port discover — pops open a browser with a pick-list of running apps. Click one, it redirects you there and shuts itself down.

Fun thing: On my @frame.work Laptop, the main BEAM process uses the AMD Strix/ROCm GPU (which shares memory with the CPU), and it spins up a second clustered BEAM process to also drive workload to the NVidia 5070, so both GPUs on my box crunching through

Been hacking on an Elixir port of Karpathy's autoresearch — an LLM agent that designs and trains GPT models autonomously, overnight. Turns out the BEAM is (unsurprisingly) a natural fit: hot code reloading for experiments, multi-GPU fault tolerance, LiveView to watch it think.

Taking Chris McCord's idea one step further. What if #elixirlang accepts a TCP connection, chats with the client, then hands the live socket to a Rust process? One unbroken TCP stream, two languages. SCM_RIGHTS is wild. 🦀🔮 github.com/chgeuer/hand_off_to_rust Really hard /cgi-bin vibes..

Inspired by Chris McCord's tweets yesterday — built a blue/green hot deployment demo in Elixir. Accept a TCP connection on v1 on BEAM node 1, then live-upgrade to v2 mid-session using SCM_RIGHTS FD passing between peer nodes. The client never disconnects. 🔵🟢 github.com/chgeuer/blue_green

My neighbour did that (with a Python-based web harness) and after I showed him what I can get via ACP or GitHub copilots even richer CLI server protocol, he ripped out all the fragile PTY stuff immediately, no looking back

Dr. Christian Geuer-Pollmann @christian.geuer-pollmann.de · 05/03/2026
I’m all in for that. But if I may say: try to avoid all that PTY nonsense, and adopt stuff like ACP which gives you many more details. Having the animated ANSI sequence stuff in your xterm.js feels badass, but you miss out on the full data set, tool call details and stuff

Your AI coding agent can iex --remsh into your running BEAM node. Agents use a single shell script + a skill definition. Now they inspect GenServer state, trace processes, hot-reload fixes (Soul of Erlang&Elixir), but the operator is an AI. 🤯 cookbook.geuer-pollmann.de/elixir-beam/... #ElixirLang

Yeah, when you have Tailscale, then regular Erlang clustering is definitely the best option. I was just trying to push my Azure messaging bits a bit to the edge with something unusual
110
Dr. Christian Geuer-Pollmann @christian.geuer-pollmann.de · 14/01/2026
The only issue is that it needs real supervised applications running, so I cannot do it early in the BEAM startup process (like the pure TCP or SSL/TLS carriers do), cause all the AMQP 1.0 production-grade stuff is a shit-ton of work 🧐
