Once again, there's a reason they won't spell out how we'd go extinct. Are we getting Jurassic Park'd because the AI is reinventing dinosaurs? Are they getting access to the nuclear codes and hypnotizing the president into using them? They are referring to bank/infrastructure hacks and exaggerating.

So… this may not be entirely accurate… The Bible is not explicit about genitalia for the most part, but there are a number of euphemistic references to God’s “feet” and “loins.” But the good news is that we do not need to limit God to the descriptions we find in the biblical texts!

It also feels like it's the result of his being a bit too enamored with versatility (which, tbf, often pays off). Feels like there was a simpler solution (Reinach on, Williams to wing). He did a similar thing when he brought Manie on: Willemse to 12 & Sacha to 15, instead of just Mannie for Sacha.

Along these same lines, I think biblical scholarship would do well to explore more sociological approaches to trauma and rely less on literary trauma theory, which is still rather dominated by the school of Cathy Caruth and her (IMO flawed) Freudian understanding of trauma.

I found this rather surprising and concerning, since much of our work as biblical scholars revolves around analyzing texts that were formed out of and operate within collectives. Given that, we should maybe be more hesitant in using trauma approaches geared toward individual expressions of trauma.

One of the more interesting things I found was that there isn't much appreciation for the distinctions between collective and individual expressions of trauma. Janzen identified some of this as a problem years ago, but it persists.

This does seem to be a bit of a problem for Rassie. Happened in that game that saved Foster’s job, IIRC. Winger was injured, and Am moved to the wing which kinda screwed up the whole backline. We rarely seem to have a great plan for an unexpected backline injury.
