I'm not a big user, but I'm glad I configured the AWS cost monitor when I set up my account. I didn't pay attention to the RDS EOL notices, and my monthly RDS budget got chewed through in just 3 days. The migration to @digitalocean.com quickly jumped to the top of my list. #buildinpublic #solodev

Finally got around to adding the automatic deployment step to my CI pipeline for my first Scaffold project (buildwithscaffold.com). Now there is absolutely no excuse for not writing the documentation, as now I can update it incrementally, anytime via the GitLab Web IDE and it'll be live in minutes.

My shared "scaffold" is copied manually between projects, making it hard to keep everything aligned, but the goal is to make it a proper dependency with clear boundaries and versioning. A small but added bonus will be the ability to include "this project is running Scaffold v1.7" #buildinpublic

Every time I try to bundle a few “small” features together, they grow arms and legs. I get more done when each change stands on its own and is seen through to completion, even if it feels trivial. I should have learned by now that “small” is easier to manage when it’s actually isolated.

A lot of good quality-of-life updates tonight. The redr.it migration didn't progress as much as I'd like, but Scaffold now has a "first-run" tool which installs and configures the essentials for new projects, and several of the odd workarounds have been fixed.

Since working on Scaffold, it hasn't felt like I'm drowning in all the todos from all my projects. Yes, I still have many todos (probably more than before), but as each feature and fix is completed, it feels more like a one-time fix instead of an N+1 problem... #buildinpublic

Small wins today. Fixed a date time bug on noticeboards.info causing events to hide too early. A combination of a yesterday/today/tomorrow bug across a dateTimeFrom and dateTimeTo properties. On the plus side, I now have a small test suite. #buildinpublic

Tonight's achievement - I've added the ability to set a colour on an event type. A tiny bit of JS needed to link the colour picker to update the text input and vice versa, and a bit of reading up on how to use custom colours with Tailwind (tailwindcss.com/docs/border-...) #buildinpublic

I tried DaisyUI for a couple of hours but struggled to get it working comfortably for me. Rolled it back, installed Preline and was up and running in half the time and it fits my flow much better.
