I can see the church roof from my bedroom. I moved to Mirfield in 1968 & a few years later started with my family tree to discover that I have ancestors on the graveyard dating back to the origins of the church records. Talk about coming home #familyhistory

I have my grandads autograph book which included this little gem from 1913! It was also his war diary with details of when he joined “the colours” on 14 March 1917 aged 18. He was gassed in Bethuen, France 23 May 1918, luckily he survived or I wouldn’t be writing this!

My 7 x great grandmother Mary Wright gave birth to John who was born in 1758. She was base begotten so I’m unable to find any information further back. I’ve managed to establish 16 generations on other branches as my family have not wandered further than #Halifax & #Mirfield
