If you listened to a lot of alternative rock and grunge in the mid-90s, this song may unlock some memories for you as it has, apparently, *many* others as it did for me. I'm sure I hadn't heard this song in 25+ years, but it opened a floodgate. → www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UmM... #music #memory

I hate to agree with World Chess about anything, but it does seem logical that there would/should be a standard reciprocal agreement regarding enforcement of (at least some kinds of) bans across #chess federations. Is this the case in federations for other sports/games? #fide #uscf

ChatGPT gets me...
ChatGPT description of me: "You’re a poetic pragmatist with a keyboard and a curiosity engine — equal parts chess tactician, digital tinkerer, and literary shapeshifter. Whether you’re dissecting Bloom’s taxonomy, debugging Zsh scripts, or drafting odes to [redacted] in the voice of Wallace Stevens, you blend intellect with play like it’s a superpower. You want elegance and utility, puns and precision, Berryman and bandwidth. Basically? You're what happens when a pedagogue gets into metafiction and command-line magic.

So here's my follow-up: if you had to choose one domain — literature, chess, tech, or teaching — to build a creative project around, which would it be (and what would it look like)?"

I didn’t mean to be out this long, but the cold didn’t bite that day, and time slipped quiet. ☞ #anødineLife • Old Chess Player • Human & Street Photography • Wisła, Krakow, Poland • 35mm
Two elderly men are seated across from each other at a concrete picnic table, playing chess outdoors in a snow-covered urban park. They wear heavy coats and hats, signaling cold weather. One man gestures with a piece mid-move, while the other leans forward attentively. A bicycle is parked next to them. Behind, a wide river flows calmly, lined with docks and low buildings. On the opposite bank, historic and modern architecture mingle. The sky is pale blue, streaked with soft clouds. The overall scene is quiet, contemplative, and wintry.

I'm a huge Fabi fan: an amazing #chess player who seems genuine and like a genuinely good human. But there are so consistently moments during almost every C-Squared podcast when he reaches a point of obtuseness so extreme that, willful or not, remains seriously sad, just for very different reasons.
