I love fun history facts. I live in a small town in Ohio. I learned this year that during the Civil War, the train passing through to take Confederate soldiers to a prison camp further north stopped to drop off a deceased soldier. He’s buried in the town cemetery.

When I finished the rough draft of my first middle grade novel, I had my boss’s young daughter read it to see if girls her age would enjoy it before putting it through revisions. After polishing, it’s now in the query trenches. With each rejection, I go back to this note to remember to keep trying.
