This time last week (factoring in the time zone), I would've arrived at Heathrow airport, ready for the check-in. Can't believe it's been a week already.

I swear if it ends up in VFC or a Sonic title, I'm done with them for good.

Always a gut punch whenever I see a project I like the look of admit to using GenAI in advertising, even if they say they don't use it with voice acting or game dev. Still not getting involved.

One of the best "Dammit, Tails!" moments I've seen yet!

Ah, nothing quite like a sleep paralysis demon to get your nerves jangling. Thankfully something in my brain hit the emergency button and woke me up right before any nasty jump scares came up. Something horrifying was about to happen though.

And I bet Samus' Ravenous suit will be her main look this time. Dread or the Prime 4 Viola outfits being an alt.

Getting ready for my first day at school again! Which feels freaking weird, considering I'm a 40-something mature student.

The first station stamps (駅スターンプ) are here! I have to change at Shibuya to get to the school, and got these on a route test yesterday. The bottom right is Suidōbashi, the nearest station to the Tokyo Dome. Will post up more when I get them!

Yay! Just need some makeshift soundproofing, and I'm back in business! I have some spare duvets. Just need to pick my moments when my housemates aren't running around.

I started doing voice acting at 38. I'm 42 now, and just moved to Tokyo on a student visa to study Japanese. You'd be very surprised if you just search around. If you get an opportunity, freaking take it!

Just set up the mic here, but I know I'm going to have to get a ton of blankets to make the background noise disappear. Not bad for a morning's work though! www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/jg32l...

All these years later, and The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street still feels fresh and daring. That episode with the ventriloquist dummy gave me nightmares for days!

They show a couple of episodes every Saturday on Legend in the UK. I think I was introduced to the Twilight Zone through the Simpsons parody of To Serve Man. I later went on the Tower of Terror in Disney World. It's only later I watched the show, and I'm glad I waited.

Same for Takeshi's Castle. I know they did a reboot a couple of years ago. Should they ever have another crack at it, I'm signing up, knowing full well I'm going to hurt myself.

It would be nice to have MercurySteam back on this once Metroid Ravenous releases. A good full circle moment.

Plus to the Brits, toilets (mainly public ones) were often called "conveniences". It's archaic, but was most famously used in a Carry On film title: Carry On At Your Convenience.

If anything, the adrenaline rush got rid of the jetlag!

I definitely did! After finding my school (I didn't get lost this time), I had a celebratory run on Thunder Dolphin at Tokyo Dome. So good!

While Episode 7 is baking in the oven, I'd love to present Witchpunk -- a cyberpunk epic from Citeog Podcasts. Its entire first season is out now and I highly recommend checking it out! If you like the worldbuilding and sound design in Dustwalker, you'll probably love this. pod.link/1890465291

A graphic that says "Dustwalker humbly presents [the cover for Witchpunk]. Listen to Witchpunk anywhere! Enjoy the (fictional) sounds of a 22nd century dystopia!".

Yep! It's probably the first time I've had to relax in a few weeks now. The course starts on Monday, so I'm going to take a look around the area to get my bearings today.

I'm planning on finding some work while I'm here. Either warehouse or office. Anything that helps pay the rent, essentially. Acting gigs would be great too, but I have no agent, and I have no idea who's legitimately hiring.

Sonic 2 Game Gear 1st boss. Took me ages to learn where to put Sonic in order to avoid the bombs. The Master System version was way easier. Additional: getting that freaking Chaos Emerald in Sky High Act 2.

Tiny little bit of a tremor just now. Literally just a little shake in the room. Nothing to worry about.

This jetlag seems to have come in waves. Thought I'd got rid of it this morning (it wasn't that bad), but I do still find myself dropping off on occasion. Nowhere near as brutal as the one coming back from a previous Japan trip, over the International Date Line. That took 4 days to clear.

Probably doesn't help that with a slightly shorter beard, I look a bit like a western version of the Landlord from Yanineko/Chainsmoker Cat right now.

Ah, the classic airport dilemma. Wait around for 2 hours looking at nothing, or have a last meal and a pint at vast expense, knowing I'm getting fed 3 hours into the flight anyway?

Usually I'm very careful with stuff like that. I miss when going on trips was simpler, now it feels like a military operation. My blood pressure will come down once I'm there. I can never sleep on flights, so jetlag zombie mode is inevitable.
