Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 19/02/2025So am I understanding correctly that they do this well before the initial patent expires so they can transition patients before anyone has an opportunity to create a generic version? And they’re pulling the original from the market before generics are available, too? 120
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 19/02/2025My #T1D 9 y/o relies on services that federal funding provides our rural school district. These are not fluffy, feel-good services, they’re life-saving care and supplemental educational services. If you’re not calling for your kids then how about calling for mine? #DOE 5calls.org/issue/educat... 0140
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 27/01/2025Putting some finishing touches on something I’ve been working toward for a bit. Using conversational AI instead of wall-of-text forms for intake so I can probe for context and clarity and get high-quality inputs instead of static forms. Loving the depth and insights of the inputs now! #buildinpublic 060
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 27/01/2025Yes. This. I’ll get down on their level and talk through their needs and try to understand their frustrations all day long but holy shit what am I supposed to do when that doctors appt is in 10 minutes and I’m sorry we’re taking my car and not moms car and can we just talk about it on the way??? 😫 140
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 22/01/2025Definitely get that! Also a nontech founder, but SaaS (sold last year, trying to figure out what's next). Windsurf lets me be product manager while delegating code to AI, which feels really natural compared to how I worked with my CTO. All of these tools make me feel like a kid in a candy store tho! 010
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 21/01/2025Sounds like you’re enjoying lovable! I’ve gotten hooked on Windsurf, myself. Tried v0 and bolt.new but just couldn’t get into them. Haven’t really tested lovable out much though! 110
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 21/01/2025Last week's #CrewOfTheWeek was an idea validator. This week? A CrewAI Tool building crew. Takes a descriptive input and outputs a custom tool py file + detailed documentation for using it in my #CrewAI crews. So far it's built an Unsplash API tool, a Weather tool and a keyword tool. #buildinpublic 030
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 17/01/2025The algo knew you changed your mind, then pumped it around the time that happened. 😂 020
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 17/01/2025Challenging myself to dive deeper into learning #CrewAI with a personal Crew of the Week. This week: a crew that takes an idea, does a shload of research to spit out a 30-ish page viability report that considers my personal priorities and gives a go/no-go with supporting reasoning. 🤯 #buildinpublic 050
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 14/01/2025That’s the (potentially) million dollar question, isn’t it? For me it comes down to the season of life. Sold a business last year so, for me, it’s been “play with new things and learn” season. Kids are young, so something that affords more family time. Another build season when they’re older. 🤷♂️ 120
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 12/01/2025This has been on my mind a ton lately, that I need to go on a "new" fast. It's exciting to poke at new stuff and learn but at some point I just have to sit down and build something from start to finish, even if it's not using the newest, latest, greatest, shiniest toy. :) 120

Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 31/12/2024Any #CrewAI gurus out there? Having problems with a flow. One crew runs kickoff_for_each_async and I can’t for the life of me get the final task to output_file with a unique filename. Just get the literal {slug}.md then it overwrites that file every time it saves another piece of content until 💻 🔥 041
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 30/12/2024Reminder: before you spend a bunch of time and energy building a feature, #RTFM. Just build a massive (non-functioning) human input step into a #CrewAI flow just to accidentally find all I had to do was add “human_input: true” to the task. #buildinpublic #failinpublic #learninpublic 060
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 30/12/2024Yeah, I was all about jumping into a paid plan but their new tiers are laughable if you’re using the tool extensively every day. And no ability to input my own OpenAI or Anthropic API keys when I inevitably run out of credits. 😒 110
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 30/12/2024“… and please, for the love of all things holy and good and pure, stop changing things that are completely unrelated.” 110
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 25/12/2024Can you do that in windsurf? I did it in Cursor but couldn’t find the option in windsurf. 000
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 24/12/2024Blew through my #Windsurf Pro Premium SuperDuper Gold Exclusive (whatever they call that plan??) credits in like 3 days. Looks like I'll be using #Cascade Base for a little less than a month. Anyone have success with their unlimited base model? #CodeWithAI #BuildInPublic 140
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 20/12/2024Absolutely blown away by #Windsurf pretty much every time I use it. Started with an idea this morning and made ridiculous progress on it throughout the day today. Unless I'm jinxing myself by saying this, I should have something launch-worthy by the end of the weekend. 🤯 #buildinpublic #codewithai 060
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 19/12/2024Do you even #buildinpublic if you don’t post a coffee shop photo every now and then? Also, my screen is gross. 150
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 13/12/2024Night two in the hospital for our BoyKid, who got a very aggressive infection around his insulin pod site that we just couldn’t get out ahead of. Looking much better, hoping to head home tomorrow. 🤞 #t1d 220

Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 04/12/2024Literally hacking away at my Stripe Connect onboarding flow right now, thinking about how much more money I could make with a foot fetish company instead of this now terrible idea I've already poured so much of my stupid time into when I could have been building a foot fetish company... 😂 110
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 04/12/2024So you're saying there's still a market for this but it's not being served any more................ 🤔 110
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 04/12/2024Holy shit you win. But also why did you ever quit that job? You got paid to GET foot massages. It's like you found the ultimate life hack. Best 9-5 ever, as long as you're a "to each his own" kinda person. 😂 100
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 04/12/2024Now... is it useful in any way? Probably not. But I just like the idea of using #commitinpublic as a way to stay accountable to working on my own projects every day. Feel free to use it, too, if you'd like. npm install -g commit-in-public 🤷♂️ 010

Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 04/12/2024I guess that would come back to the discussion we were just having - yeah, it might be possible, but I'd probably be leaving money on the table vs being hands-on with it. I really think most of this comes down to the season of life I'm in and how active I want to be with work vs time with the kids. 020

Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 04/12/2024Let’s mix things up today - what’s the strangest job you ever had? Mine? Definitely the summer I spent going page-by-page, erasing pencil marks from standardized test booklets for VA Beach public schools while listening to oldies radio with “The Golden Girls”, my old-lady fellow erasing buddies. 310
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 04/12/2024Absolutely valid point. I think the real dream come true would be a holding company where I get to spin things up then hand them to a GM to run while o work on the next project. Or sell at a lower price in return for long term equity. Or a mix of these + quick build & sells on a case by case basis. 110
Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 04/12/2024I feel like a kid in a candy store right now. Including the part where I’m spending money on empty calories. Chris Scott @chrisgscott.me · 04/12/2024I ran my last SaaS for about 10 years before it was acquired, so I think it might be that I did the day to day for so long on one project that now I’m kind of spastically bouncing around different ideas. 🤣 110
