I find that whole thing particularly vexing because I've been loudly anti-piracy/"pay people who make things" for 30 years. And now Sony is pushing me into the "if buying isn't owning, piracy isn't stealing" camp. Anyway, AI used for tts for the blind is great: used to imitate VAs, not so much.

Probably because it got caught pretty early on and seemed merely lazy and not like the goal was to fool the court. I remember Legal Eagle discussing the one I mentioned. I don't think he/she/they were disbarred, but they were reprimanded by the judge.

There have been several instances of lawyers submitting briefs to a court that were written by ChatGPT. ChatGPT hallucinated entire cases to use as precedent for their argument. The lawyers either didn't proofread at all or thought the cases were legit and didn't bother checking.

A) I didn't say he was or that it did. I'd thank you to not put words in my mouth. B) Judicial review must be a power of the SCOTUS or else it has no check on Congress or the exec, making it less than co-equal. See Marbury v Madison. While it can't change the Constitution, it can void laws and EOs.

But that goes to the question of consciousness. If the AIs are people, like Altman argues, then they can bear their own responsibility for their actions. If they're not people and therefore not responsible for what they do, then they also don't have a claim to the rights of people.

Applies also to actors and voice actors: READ YOUR CONTRACTS. Preferably before signing them. Protect your rights to your likeness just as you'd protect the rights to your paintings, music, writings, etc. If they weren't valuable, nobody would try to trick you into giving them away.
