Remembering Brighton, UK. This is the Royal Pavillion, built by the Regent King. It's beautiful, in the extreme, and a 'must-see' if you find yourself in Brighton.
A large, Indian-styled building with onion domes, minarets and fretwork at dusk. Many architectural features are highlighted by the building's kighting scheme.

There are some who will tell you that empathy is tyranny, that equality is inequality, that oppression is freedom. See these for the lies they are, and know the liars for the enemies they are.

My wish is that this Season of Hope and Joy brings both to You and Those You Love!
A Christmas Tree with ornaments stands tall and glorious, decked out in golden ribbons and topped by a Moravian Star. Many gifts surround the base of the tree.

@bafterdarkbl.bsky.social Hey there! Hope all's well. I'm having an issue with X's messaging: the app keeps crashing every time I try to open messages. 😤 Just wanted to let you know in cases you wanted to chat or need me for anything. I am working on resolving the x issue, fyi.

Mikado steam engine #16 at the historic East Broad Top (EBT) Railroad. She was steamed and purring like a well-tuned machine. What a pleasure to ride and photograph this Lady of Indusrty! Merry Christmas to All the Good Folks at EBT!

From our May 2024 safari in Sabi Sands Game Reserve, at Elephant Plains Lodge, in beautiful South Africa. The love between a mother and her offspring is special, no matter what the species.

No. 1309, a steam locomotive at Western Maryland Railroad, taken last year. The Western Maryland Railroad runs between Cumberland, MD and Frostburg, MD. Worth the time and money to see, imho.
Very large steam locomotive at Western Maryland Railroad in Cumberland, MD. The sky I'd overcast and steam and smoke billow from the locomotive. No. 1309 is now the largest steam locomotive operating in the Eastern United States.

Today would have been Carl Sagan's 90th birthday. He wrote this in 1995. Carl was absolutely right. #CarlSaganDay
I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time - when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness. The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30-second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance.

I wonder how much of our reaction to Drumpf (Trump) is unresolved PTSD from the pandemic and weeks of isolation? We have a lots of emotions and trauma that haven't even been acknowledged, much less addressed in a healthy way. Mental health = health. Remember to take care of each other.

Went camping in the Poconos this summer & visited one of my favorite restaurants there: Tedesci's, in Great Bend, PA. This is the chicken marsala and it is so delicious! Tender, savory/sweet chicken on a bed of linguine noodles with mushrooms, broccoli & marsala wine. What a treat!!
Lean chicken breast cooked in marsala wine and butter with broccoli and mushrooms over al fresco linguine noodles. Served on a large serving plate, drizzled with balsamic vinegretteas decoration on the plate and a beautiful flower on top. Served with a lovely dry mellow wine. Delicious!!

So, I'm a newbie here. Trying to see how to transition off of X because honestly, I can't stand Elon tweeting every two minutes. Doesn't he have a few companies that need his attention?!
