Canucks lose the game, but damn, they sure as hell did not fail to entertain. They avoided a blow out and really gave EDM something to think about on their flight home.

Oilers are smiling at the final horn, but I bet they won’t be smiling after Babcock tears them a new one in the locker room.

It’s going to be interesting to see the Oilers play a team not called the Canucks. They’ve given up 12 goals in 2 games against the worst team in the league. Imagine them playing a team like the Avs or VGK. I’d be worried if I were an EDM fan.

Oilers will likely win this one, but the fact that Vancouver scored another 6 goals is a blaring red flag for Edmonton. A real moral win for the Canucks.

I said this last game, win or lose, it doesn’t matter this season, but if the Canucks can score 4-5 goals a game, it’s a positive in my books.

Makes sense to see the Oilers dominating the Canucks tonight. But it does say something that it took them getting embarrassed by the Canucks in their home opener to wake up. That’s the problem with the Oilers, they always seem to coast through parts of their season.

Am I being naive in saying this or does it make sense if the Canucks built a giant practice facility with 3 sheets of ice at the old race course? There would still be room for a stadium for the Whitecaps. It would be a great revitalization of Hastings Park as a sports complex.

I learned today from the HalBro show that UBC has 3 rinks in one spot. Canucks just need to build a clubhouse, and they have ice right there and a sports medicine center. So many other teams have practice facilities in tandem with Universities. This makes sense.
