i feel like we're in the middle of a new editor holy war right now... we used to have vim vs emacs. now we have cursor vs windsurf vs copilot vs ... it seems likely to me that we'll end up in a similar preference based end-state depending on how each person likes to code #ai #editor

The leap forward in AI native code editors is pretty amazing. It's the only thing in the last 10 years that's actually managed to make me leave my JetBrains IDE cave. #ai #editor #windsurf #cursor

SWE Bench exists for benchmarking AI based coding ability. Why don't we have the same for SREs? For that matter why aren't there any good debugging test benches - even for humans? #ai #sre #benchmarking #swebench

if ai is the best at python because there is more python and ai writes all the new code and people let it write python because its the best at python, will we reach a python singularity where there is only python? if yes, please for the love of god at least make it use type annotations #ai #python

Running containerized golang applications in production? TLDR; Set GOMAXPROCS to avoid 2x perf drop I saw a production cpu increase of around 2x because we didn't set it. In this blog post I run through an investigation of our performance drop and how we fixed it. buff.ly/4g53Mm2 #golang
