It took longer than expected to become this team, with close wins to begin the season. I also think it’s not having been in the playoff for some time, and maybe even geography. In your scenario, one could argue GA is the best team, but then so were the 2007 Patriots. They weren’t champions. Today’s culture just accepts the ultimate winner of the playoff as champ.
