it's a concept in dunning-kruger that you sometimes see in the illustrations used to describe the effect. None of this is very scientific anyway 🤣 I'm pretty sure the dunning-kruger effect has even been debunked, but it's still an interesting mental model to think about in these trying times 🫠
An illustration of the dunning-kruger effect showing an arrow pointing at the peak of "mount stupid" labelled "Ignorant", an arrow pointing at the bottom of the "valley of despair" labelled "cultured", and an arrow pointing at the top of the "slope of enlightenment" labelled "expert". There is also a horizontal dotted line crossing from the peak of "mount supid" and another horizontal dotted line crossing from the top of the "slope of enlightenment" and an arrow highlighting the difference between these confidence levels labelled "confidence gap"

"velocity has a direction in a very high dimensional vector space" is a very @eaf4.com quote and a great thought to leave us with in a closing @emberfest.eu keynote 🎉

I'm sorry @notion.com but you crossed a line with this one. Your "Meeting detection" feature is not helpful; it is creepy. Your docs don't go into enough detail on how you are doing this, so I'm now removing the Notion desktop app and recommending my colleagues do the same as a security precaution

Hey dawg, I hear you like plugin outlets

Because of a strange series of events I'm attending the Munich Rust meetup at the @mainmatter.com office 🦀🎉 One thing that I wonder: what percent of Rust talks is actually just everyone watching the rust compiler? 🤣

Here is what my pixel can capture with the star mode on the camera. A remarkable number of stars
A massive amount of stars with a tree occluding a bit of the view in the top of the pic

Tonight I managed to take a picture of Jupiter and 3 of its moons with a very cheap kids telescope. It's really amazing to think about what is possible, and it is always inspiring for me when I get a chance to see the stars with a truly dark sky
A very blurry pic of Jupiter with two very clear moons in sight. There is a questionable speck that could be another moon far off to the left of the pic but the author is claiming this as definitely a moon and he's sticking with that story

I released something today while at a cafe having brunch. If you haven't moved all of your npm packages to release-plan yet then you should! It is by far the easiest way to release and it really lets you #releaseanywhere with no fuss
A very tasty looking Eggs Benedict with far too many fried potato cubes on the side, accompanied by a very fancy looking cappuccino

So it looks like @notion.com has broken the screenreader again 😭 after every paragraph focus is stolen by the AI widget. Here is a demo of the behaviour (sorry for no sound but you can see the voiceover preview)
