Calton Hill offers a superb view of Edinburgh, especially during the ‘blue hour’ before darkness. This was the view yesterday; the monument is to Dugald Stewart, philosopher and mathematician, and luminary of the Scottish Enlightenment in the 18th/19th centuries.
