What do the Irish have to fear from Russia? They will always be able to sell alumina.

Anders, are you thinking of sometime soon after the US midterms when all chaos breaks out within the US? I was wondering if China would make a move on Taiwan. Could Putin make a move on the Baltics?

This account seems to be a 60/40 style account - doing a "bothsides" narrative with these posts👇 anyone who takes the time to blame Ukraine for being attacked is an azzhat🙄 Over 600 of my followers follow this account 🤷‍♂️ @humanrightsindex. bsky. social

“No—the earlier answer was too confident and appears to have confused School No. 12 in Izium with a school in Kyiv. The credible source I found reports that Russian forces used School No. 12 in Izium…” Based on all the above, Human Rights Index is a disinformation account and should be reported.

I ask GPT 5.6 Luna the question. At first it replied that the School was used as a base by the military (but the sources it provides don’t mention that school). So I asked “Are you sure?” It then replied:

“Following the strike, unverified claims and social media threads circulated alleging that Ukrainian schools are being used to manufacture drones or shell casings. However, these claims have not been substantiated by international observers or independent journalists covering the strike.”

This is really interesting… I asked Google AI mode “Does Kyiv school number 12 have links with the Ukrainian war effort?” It replied: “There is no public, verified evidence connecting Kyiv School No. 12 to the Ukrainian military or weapon manufacturing.” (Mentions the strike)

That all aligns with Russian disinformation campaigns. They don’t try to cultivate positive sentiment toward Russia, the strategy focuses on fostering division and undermining Western solidarity with Ukraine.

If I switch my VPN to browse from Europe, and refresh the browser version of Google Maps, it changes to “Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)”.

I believe that if you traveled to the US, you would see “Golfe d'Amérique”. Google determines a user’s location, and thus which version of the body of water they see, using data from their mobile OS, SIM, and network.

Google chose to make the change, it isn’t that their database is updated automatically from a US government source. Their statement on the Gulf of Mexico was "We have a longstanding practice of applying name changes when they have been updated in official government sources."

His executive order renames AI, but the order only binds federal agencies. No one else, including individual states, is legally compelled to feed Trump’s narcissistic supply by changing their terminology. The exact same principle applies to geographic names.

If Lithuania and Poland break European Union trade and transit treaties with Russia, they can expect to have their structural funds frozen. They would face the Russian counter-escalation entirely on their own, without a unified European economic shield to absorb the damage.
000
Chowderman🍴 @chowderman.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Anyway, Poland and Lithuania cannot act alone because EU trade laws and EU-Russia agreements govern transit to Kaliningrad. While they can close borders for national security, a total blockade requires EU-wide consensus, and therefore Ireland to acquiesce.
110
Chowderman🍴 @chowderman.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
You are changing your argument. You now want front-line states to be cornered by Ireland into taking action in total isolation, without the support of the EU, completely exposing them to the immediate fallout.
100
Chowderman🍴 @chowderman.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
No, the EU could isolate Kaliningrad by expanding sanctions to ban all rail/road freight, ending the passenger transit agreement, freezing transit payments, and fully closing EU skies and ports. Recall, Ireland is shameless. It still supplies alumina to Russia which can be used to produce missiles.
121
Chowderman🍴 @chowderman.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
The Irish will now use that to block the EU from isolating Kaliningrad in any way.

The irony! The man who won't regulate AI wants to regulate what it's called. I'd suggest an American "Académie Française," but that would deprive Trump of the narcissistic supply he gets from forcing others to bow to his personal whims.

More like “The Blitz” than “The Battle of Britain”. Russia's modern air assault on the Kyiv mirrors the strategic, psychological, and punitive logic of the Nazi Blitz terrorising civilians. (During the Battle of Britain, the Nazis targeted military assets.) nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/85...
