I had developed an obsession with drawing Choux (and by extension, Emet-Selch) in the style of Sailor Moon. I collected a few manga pages and spreads to recreate and this was one of them. #chouxart

A recreation of a Sailor Moon manga page, with Choux putting his right hand on Emet-Selch's face, and his left hand on his shoulder. Choux looks really happy. Emet-Selch is smiling, but he also looks like he feels a bit more complicated about it. They are surrounded by sparkles and flowers.

Choux wore a wedding dress for the end of ShB, so I redrew this Sailor Moon panel with him wearing that. #chouxart

Based off of a Sailor Moon panel, it shows Choux in a wedding dress, looking down at Emet-Selch. His hair covers his face, but he is distraught. Emet-Selch lays in his lap in his Ascian robes, and a white hole in his chest. A soul crystal floats around Choux's hand.

Another redrawn panel from the Sailor Moon manga featuring the Exarch, Emet-Selch and Choux #chouxart

The Crystal Exarch looks on at a scene of Emet-Selch and Choux walking together. He has a silent "..." bubble above his head, and though it can suggest jealousy, I had originally meant for it to be worry.

Redrawn Sailor Moon panel to break my own heart #chouxart

Emet-Selch holding and kissing Choux on the head, while he has a gaping white hole in his chest. Choux looks extremely sad, and is crying. Emet says, "Cheer up, Choux."

021

back when I deleted all of my stuff, I was extremely sensitive to being perceived (and sometimes judged) and it was difficult handling fandom seeing my work enough for people to recognize choux. I think I'm doing a bit better now, although disappearing was probably both needed and sort of ridiculous

#wolqotd / #wolquestion Thank you for making this template! It was fun to fill out! Even though I chose specific games for Kirby and Princess Peach, I do seem them as his inspiration in general and not limited to those games! #chouxpix

A character template showing Choux and characters who have inspired him. The template shows: Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon, Duck / Ahiru from Princess Tutu, Kirby from Kirby Star Allies (that one is thanks to the heart/friend mechanic), Princess Peach from Paper Mario 64 (because of the power of her wishes), Albert de Morcerf from Gankutsuou, Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, Ai Kashiwagi from Death Mark, and Lynn Minmay from Macross.

some interesting triple triad opponents I found in my screenshots folder #chouxpix

Imperial Deserter saying: "Please, before you kill me, let me play a game of Triple Triad!"

Furtive Former Imperial saying: "With the Empire gone, I've got no way of making a living! My only hope is to win that upcoming Triple Triad tournament and live off the winnings. Don't suppose you'd help me out with a few practice rounds?"

playing on controller is kind of... overwhelming... I hope I get used to it

Choux not quite understanding that Lahabrea isn't Thancred in that moment (which lead to a situationship between them as I played through the expansions) #chouxart

Lahabrea as Thancred saying: "I'm not ACTUALLY him-" while looking flustered as Choux leans in for a kiss. After the kiss (much later on) Elidibus says, "Did you... truly kiss the Warrior of Light?" Lahabrea looks flustered once again and replies, "Shut up I don't want to talk about it. Ever."

In Choux's lore, he views Nero as a friend after the Crystal Tower raids. He doesn't understand a word of what Nero says most of the time, but he will sit and listen to him, which makes Nero friendly enough towards him. #chouxart

Nero Scaeva holding Choux up with one arm, and says: "Are you able to see it now? This particular component is necessary for-" Choux looks in awe and says, "oooohh" but does not actually understand what Nero is saying.

I genuinely thought I lost this comic! I couldn't find it with my most recent files brought over from my computer, but it was actually in a much older folder in my external hard drive. I'm glad I can still share this interaction between these two. #chouxart

Panel 1: Emet-Selch smirking at Choux and saying, "Casting magic requires SOME form of intelligence, does it not? Just HOW do you manage with your limited faculties?" meanwhile, Choux is happily looking at his astrologian cards
Panel 2: Positively shining with his smile, Choux replies "I ask the stars really nicely if they can help me out!!"
Panel 3: Now in a sour mood, Emet-Selch replies "Of course you do."

I really enjoyed drawing this. It's very in-character. #chouxart

Top image: Choux is searching for something under a table, with his ass out and wearing a dress, panties, and thigh-high stockings. He says, "You said it was under here??" Emet-Selch watches in amusement, dressed in a robe and sipping a glass of a wine. He replies, "Yes. That's perfect." In a smaller voice, Choux says, "I don't see it..." Emet-Selch responds with "That's fine. Keep looking."
The bottom part of the image shows Elidibus walking in on the scene and starts to say, "What-" but Emet-Selch interrupts him by saying "Shut up." while taking a sup of his wine. He is shown lounging with slippers on, and Choux is still bent under the table. Choux cheerfully states "I'll find it eventually!" and Emet-Selch agrees with "Yes. Keep up the good work."

my pride and joy! I don't think I ever worked as hard for anything else in this game, at least until I earn the triple triad title/mount! and both would be tied to the gold saucer, which suits choux. I love this guy, and I enjoyed walking around amaurot with him. #chouxpix

choux in il mheg, standing on his favorite mount: senor sabotender. the mount is huge and glowing, with various decorations reminiscent of the gold saucer.

choux mounted (but hidden) on his giant senor sabotender mount, standing behind some large amaurotines in amaurot.

a doodle page I found on my ipad, with a bunch of little chouxs all over the place #chouxart

at the top left corner, Choux is cheerfully telling Emet-Selch: "Did you know? Your Major Arcana is LOVERS?" Emet-Selch looks unimpressed and says "Is that so." (Choux is referring to Emet-Selch being associated with Gemini, which in turn is associated with The Lovers tarot card). Directly below that drawing shows Emet-Selch holding a pomander from the Palace of the Dead and saying: "Wait, how did you make this?" Choux doesn't answer, just looks cheerful (Choux loves Palace of the Dead and I have a lot of lore surrounding that) In the top middle, there is a slightly worried looking Choux, but he is drawn chibi, so it's okay. Directly next to that drawing to the right is Choux tearfully saying "I don't wanna." Under that drawing, shows a cheerful Choux holding up a sign that says 'EMIT SULK' and he asks: "Is this how you spell it?" off screen, Emet-Selch says "what the fuck? no."

I forgot I made this choux/emet AMV back when I finished Shadowbringers, but I found it again!! (it does use pretty much the most spoilery cutscenes from the end of that expansion though) "Under Your Spell" by Desire #chouxpix

found this on my external hard drive while looking for poorly labeled art files

there's a really old WIP I found that I remember sketching out right after I finished shadowbringers, and I think I'm gonna try picking at it here and there to see how far I can get with it. I like the idea I was going for, but I was a bit too impatient to deal with it at the time!

000

I forgot to share this! Since Choux has an interest in both Triple Triad and Tarot cards, I spent a good chunk of time creating a deck for him were he to use Triple Triad cards for Tarot reading. These are the major arcana (some might seem strange, but it makes sense for him!) #chouxpix

A graphic that shows various Triple Triad cards applied to the major arcana cards of a Tarot deck. 0: The Fool = Ardbert, I: The Magician = Great Azuro, II: The High Priestess = Minfilia (two cards pictured), III: The Empress = Shiva / Ysayle (two cards pictured), IV: The Emperor = Gaius, VI: The Lovers = Hades, VII: The Chariot = Zenos (two cards pictured), VIII: Strength = Ryne, IX: The Hermit = Hermes, X: Wheel of Fortune = Senor Sabotender, XI: Justice = Tsukuyomi, XII: The Hanged Man = Estinien, XIII: Death = Zodiark, XIV: Temperance = Urianger (two cards pictured), XV: The Devil = Nidhogg, XVI: The Tower = Therion, XVII: The Star = Hydaelyn, XVIII: The Moon = Elidibus, XIX: The Sun = Hythlodaeus, XX: Judgment = Alexander Prime, XXI: The World = Midgardsormr

I stopped playing a bit after endwalker (I'm not caught up with msq) but for a while I kept jokingly telling my best friend that I would draw choux in a casket. she was not amused. if I had to think about what he had been up to all that time: maybe making flower arrangements for funerals instead

150

if you can believe it, what drew me back into returning to FFXIV was the 'eat chicken' emote (and also finishing school, but that's another matter.) #chouxpix

My WoL Choux, staring straight on at the viewer holding a bucket of chicken. He is holding a chicken leg with his right hand, looking slightly awkward. He is pictured in his gaudy apartment.

doodle that sums up choux and emet-selch #chouxart

emet-selch shown slouching under the weight of choux crouch-sitting on his back. Choux is sitting in one of the male miqo'te poses, so it mimics a cat perching on their owner in an effort to show affection and annoy them at the same time.

when I first played BG3, I became very fascinated with Kar'niss. Choux would be very kind to him! #chouxart

Kar'niss, the drider, guiding the way with the moon lantern while holding Choux's hand. Choux most likely asked to hold hands, and he looks up at wonder at Kar'niss. Choux is wearing a very adorable outfit in pink and stands out next to Kar'niss.

Choux's much smaller hand pictured touching Kar'niss's much larger hand. Below that, Choux looks absolutely fascinated with big eyes and sparkles around him, saying: "wow you're so beautiful I've never met a drider before this is so amazing I'm so happy to meet you can we be friends can we hang out what are your hobbies-" Below that shows Kar'niss looking somewhat baffled, but a small flush on his cheeks. A small "what" is next to his drawing.

071

I forgot that I had done some art of Choux in the Baldur's Gate universe! His model was Half-Elf, but I imagined him as part Fae! He was a bard (of course) and I loved how this outfit looked in pink. #chouxart

Portrait/bust of Choux. He has a dark brown complexion, pink eyes (they are usually orange when he is a Miqo'te in FFXIV) he has long pink hair. His bangs are parted in the middle, and fall at his shoulders. The rest of his long hair is tied back into a somewhat messy bun. He is wearing a very intricate pink shirt with a ruffled white undershirt.

010

I think that is about all the art I have access to. I might post some screenshots, or even work on some old WIPs! I'm not sure yet. This is mostly an archive for now!

A lovely comic I made when I was leveling blue mage #chouxart

Panel 1: Choux holds up a wand and looks up at Emet-Selch expectantly and says, "Emet-Selch! Look at what I learned how to do!!" Emet-Selch smirks gently down at him.
Panel 2: Emet-Selch turns fully, one arm in the air. He says, "Alright then, let's see it." Choux starts the Blue Mage casting animation.
Panel 3: Choux spits out a fish and it smacks Emet-Selch right in the face.
Panel 4: The fish slips off of Emet-Selch, but he is stunned into complete silence.
Panel 5: Still stunned, Emet-Selch opens his eyes and stares off in confusion, but still doesn't move. Choux looks up at him with joy.

more studies based off of screenshots (the emet-selch was a modded one) #chouxart

The top two portraits are both choux when he wore the 2B outfit. The bottom left is a size difference between zenos and choux. They both look at each other. Bottom right is a sketch of a modded screenshot of Emet-Selch with the bunny crown.

portrait studies from some screenshots! #chouxart

Three portraits. Top left is Choux looking for demure with his hair flowing and him looking down. He's wearing a dress that shows off his shoulders and a bow collar. Next to him is Emet-Selch smirking at the viewer. The bottom portrait is Choux looking at the viewer mid-dance, smiling and putting his left hand over his breast.
