My uncle asked me to make him a cardigan and I am hating the entire process of having to make it when it isn’t for me. Am I wrong for it? I thought I’d enjoy it since I’ve made it 3x already but in colorful yarn and his is pitch black color. I need all the light while working on it. But not enjoying

Thank you! I’m actually currently making a swatch, same yarn different colorway, but I went from 5.5mm to 5 mm. Going to block it and see if I hit gauge. As well as see if this will also grow lol since I’m not using the lace weight alpaca yarn with it

After blocking the Lakes Cardigan. Not exactly in love with how Drapey it became. It feels more heavier now, and well, wasn’t really the look I was looking for. I did make a mistake, I did not swatch the yarn, so that’s completely on me. Didn’t learn how it would react after blocking. #knitting

I finished the Lakes Cardigan by Ozetta Only thing I did not like about the pattern was the amount of times it asks you to break the yarn. Maybe it’s just me but I hate that loose stitch I have to work through for 2 rows. It throws off my tension. Otherwise an easy and fun pattern.

Also I’m going to be a bit harsh on myself, but this would be the first time knitting in a yarn that is thick and thin through out the thread, it’s not consistently one size. So i feel like my stitches could look more uniform, but look awkward due to the inconsistency of the yarn

I’ve finally seperated the sleeves now just have to knit the body! One thing that came to my attention was that - I mistakenly ordered the wrong yarn. ITS OK! I still love this donegal tweed. however I did want a much lighter heather gray port jacket. Maybe this is an excuse to make another one? 🤣

Also - I wanted to add that, one thing I do before actually starting a new pattern from an artist I’ve never knitted before, is knitting the upper portions of the sweater with scrap yarn, to make sure I understand exactly what is being asked before casting on with expensive yarn.

So a couple of weeks ago, I bought a new pattern and it’s the Ozetta ‘Port Jacket’ I really love it! And it took me some time to find the perfect yarn that I wanted. So I finally ordered it, and it’s on its way. Meanwhile, I’m practicing knitting the button band with scrap yarn + button holes.
