Choco made it home!! 🎉 This time we planned a trip to see the changing trees... But the trees by us are way more colorful XD it was still nice, we went to a bunch of scenic lookout places and it wasn't even very cold! I can't share all the pics here but here's one of my puppy, Bunnie!! 💜💜💜💜

Mini garden update: 🌱 one last good look at the big pumpkin leaves. It will probably be too cold soon for any actual big pumpkin to grow :/ it's a little sad but I had fun growing a big giant vine anyways. Always alttxt for more yaps 💜

She's starting to become a tangled up mess at the end here, it's becoming a big regret that the beans and peppers are in close proximity, although they weren't when I first planned garden. I've mentioned before, the pumpkin vine was supposed to grow the other direction. We've got about 100sqft of nice sunny sand specifically cleared out for this behemoth, and he decides to grow in the flower bed. Smh.

Officially the biggest leaf I've seen on this guy so far! I remember in the beginning his leaves were about half this size! I'm really trying to come up with ways to press one of them so if you've got ideas please tell me

Male flower, male flower, tons and tons of lads but where's the ladies?! I've heard of squash/gourds going through a bit of a "sausage fest" era but there's definitely buds for female flowers that are just not opening. At this rate, even if I do manage to get a female flower open, pollinated well enough, and start fruiting, we only have maybe a month until it starts getting frosty at night, not enough time to grow a giant :/ not even enough time to grow a regular pumpkin :( I'm trying really hard to not get sad about it, after all, I expected nothing to grow at all, so I should be really excited about my huge vine and leaves and flowers.... But... I just feel like I'm failing at something that's supposed to be so easy it happens all the time on accident. I'm not gonna complain about it too much but I hope next year will be better. Assuming we even still live here and can have a garden.

It's the end of the vine. Neither of us know where to go from here, but we're getting all wrapped up in our own thoughts trying to figure it out. (Wow, it's not that deep, it's just a pumpkin vine)

Also I'm finally getting new glasses sometime in a few weeks! They're heart shaped frames with pink lenses (wooow sooo super gendur neutral lmfao, there were zero men in charge of this choice. They can pick the next pair, cuz we're getting /nice/ glasses with a -7 scrip for less than $100!?!)

Sometimes I wish my friend never went to jail and got sober, cuz that was the catalyst for everything else. She lost her house and we lost our driveway. We broke apart again and she put her life together and has kids and a house and I'm so proud, but fuck I miss her. I'm selfish. That's fucked.

Got a pretty decent gartden haul today too! A little bit of everything! Still no zukes tho 🙄 (they got destroyed by slugs, but they're bouncing back a bit now) we're gonna make some kind of stew or something with it all tomorrow :p alt for deets 💜
