I like the concept of a "year later newspaper", which prints news stories from the current date but from last year. An interesting experiment to see how the sense of urgency, importance and speculation plays out in the long run. How many of those stories, which felt so crucial at the time, matter?

So tired of seeing AI this and AI that, especially from people who should know better. I don't want to sound like a Luddite, but maybe we're not ready to use this responsibly yet. We're definitely not ready to use it sustainably. Yes, I've tried to use Copilot at work and it's awful, an anti-tool.

It's been a year so I can talk about the 2025 cons. It felt bad when people would give me stickers because I knew they'd probably end up in a drawer abandoned. And sure enough the other day I was looking for smth else and found my drawer with all the con stuff a year later. Booklet, stickers, etc.

Part 1 of my Project™ is, I think, lined. So now...4 more parts to do. And then possibly colour, though that will be easier. It's the first time I'm doing something of this scale/level of commitment so I want to do it right and take enough breaks to not burn out or get overwhelmed. Amaze amaze!

Been to the cinema for the first time in 7 years. Just as I remembered, they make the sound effects too loud. The Odyssey, good film! Felt kind of episodic? TF scene a bit gruesome but in a good way. 3k years later, we still make war for all the wrong reasons. Good food for thought.

Yesterday I had to sit through a Strategy Meeting and nearly every slide, I had to ask the speaker to clarify something because the wording on the slideshow was unclear. Turns out it was written by AI, which explains why none of it made sense. Is it really helping if it produces unclear reports?

There is a hosepipe ban in my area (Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey and parts of London). So, individuals are not allowed to use a hosepipe to water our gardens, wash cars, etc (not a problem for me) Are AI data centres facing similar restrictions?

There is a cheetah TF which is almost ready. I plan to give it the finishing touches possibly tomorrow. It took me a couple of weeks to do the lineart but once I found my mojo again, I think it's been coming along great. Can't wait to share it with the world.

We use AI to write emails and essays that will be read and summarised by AI so that someone can actually understand it. This does not sound...normal. This sounds quite dystopian. Perhaps we should start learning how to write and read, instead of learning how to prompt?
