We adults need to get busy solving the problems we've created, rather than waiting for the children of tomorrow to solve them for us. beprochild.substack.com/p/pro-child-...

Pro-Child Does NOT equal Pro-Fertility
Having more children is not the solution to problems around aging, healthcare, social security, Medicaid, and economic stability

No, but I do try to limit my exposure because this is what it often amounts to: people fighting and arguing over stuff that is in no way any of their business and does not affect them at all. Oh, and cat videos. It is such a waste of time and energy when there are real problems and issues to solve

No, the craziest part is random people on social media believing that they should comment on a story that absolutely does not involve them in any way whatsoever.

So, extraditing a patient back to a state where they live after receiving a medical treatment in California for prosecution in their home state for a treatment that is legal in California but illegal in their home state? Has that happened?

I'm confused. How could providing legal health care in California break the law in another state? Maybe the purpose is for providers who have come to California AFTER getting in trouble in another state for providing "illegal" services to be extradited...? But seems mostly power grab by Newsom.

Sheeran took a side earlier this year in his song with U2 (pro-Ukraine song). So it is clear he happily takes sides, just not willing to take a side against genocide.

Sheeran has taken political stances in the past - in fact, earlier this year when he sang with U2 on a pro-Ukraine song. But, apparently being anti-genocide is too controversial??

Public money should stay with public schools. Any private school that accepts public money should follow the same rules the public schools follow, including guarantees of services for special needs students.

Yes, football is so deeply entrenched in U.S. culture, probably impossible for many to walk away. And the investment of $$ in facilities, staff, etc... Probably the short-term solutions are around better equipment, stricter rules on head hits, and limits and participation esp. for children.

Youth sports have an inclusion problem and an equity problem. I have no idea what you do or don't like. Just offering a different fall activity that can replace fall Saturdays that have been spent with football. Sheesh.

Instead, find a local marching band contest in the fall - great friendships, mascots, amazing talented kids, all genders and abilities welcome, and lifelong hobby and memories. And no CTE.

I never said all ideologies are valid or of equal worth. I said when it comes to political violence, you are no different than those who support bombing of abortion clinics: you are both willing to support murder for political purposes. I find that unacceptable no matter the rationale.
100
childrensrights.bsky.social @childrensrights.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
The only difference is your political persuasion. Political violence has no place in my country; those who support it actively undermine the important work of creating a better health care system that works for everyone.

childrensrights.bsky.social @childrensrights.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
Saying it is okay to murder health insurance executives is extremely unhelpful to the health care reform cause. It's no different than those who support those who bomb abortion clinics (because they say doctors who provide abortion are mass murders).
100
childrensrights.bsky.social @childrensrights.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
In any case, political violence is unacceptable and undermines the very thing you claim to want to achieve. If you want true change, civil disobedience and nonviolent protest are the best means, not vigilante political violence.

If killing is wrong, then killing is wrong. You are running in circles trying to justify why you think this killing was acceptable...but it's never acceptable... If UnitedHealth or Thompson committed crimes, then they should face a jury in a court of law. Not gunned down on the street.

Political violence is wrong. There are many ways to protest and object to the broken system, and to work to improve health for everyone. Murder is not one of them.
100
childrensrights.bsky.social @childrensrights.bsky.social · 14/08/2026
I have said, numerous times: killing people is wrong. And the system is broken and needs fixing. It is also true, there are people in the insurance industry who care deeply about patients and work hard to do their best in a terrible system. Okay to murder them, too, or just the 'bad ones'?
100
childrensrights.bsky.social @childrensrights.bsky.social · 14/08/2026
The system is broken and we desperately need health care reform. Too many families are bankrupted or go without needed care. But that's not an excuse for murdering someone in cold blood.

So Meta knows which accounts are likely to be interested in this material? And Meta has taken no action to ensure these users are not harassing, targeting, stalking, exploiting, following, or abusing children?

And therefore it seems Meta knows which users are likely to respond to such ads...and they do nothing about that other than sell those ads to them...which is perhaps even more troubling.

I know it is only one episode into season 4, but I will say I appreciate it when shows like Ted Lasso treat children with kindness and seriousness - adults actually listen to them! - that is sadly not found in most TV shows

I hate most "required reading" lists. Instead of adults telling children what books are worth reading, children should have significant and ongoing opportunities to select required books that are relevant and interesting to them. Maybe even the adults will learn something.

It seems weird that we pretend this is 'countries' competing against each other. When it's really just players who have citizenship from a country all on the same team. Even if they haven't lived there for decades and train & play for a team in another country 95% of the time
