Five years into the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) program, this newly released @policyalternatives.ca report analyzes the shifting landscape of licensed child care fees across 35 major Canadian cities. Read the report: childcarecanada.org/documents/re... #CDNChildCare
An orange banner that says, “New CCPA report,” stretches across the top of the graphic. Underneath is the title, “The $10-a-day divide: Child care fees in Canada in 2026,” the author names, “David Macdonald and Martha Friendly,” and text that says “After five years of Canada's federal child care program parents are paying less. But most families still pay more than $10/day.” Below is an expanse of green that is split open with a deep zig zag crack. On one side, there is a red children's tricycle, a fluffy brown teddy bear, and a wooden block. The CRRU logo is in the bottom left corner.

Big #cdnchildcare contingent at Toronto's #IWD2025 march included my MP, @cafreeland, one of the intrepid women political leaders who put our 50-year struggle for universal childcare on the road to reality. As the marchers chanted "10-a-day - It's here to stay!"

Re fed/MB childcare ministers' space expansion: Building non-profit/public #cdnchildcare this way is good for children/parents & now more essential than ever in light of USA attack on Canadian economy/integrity/ sovereignty. Must keep building made-in-Canada $10-a-day plan,coast-to-coast-to-coast.
