My family went back to the village our ancestors left in Ireland near Ennis in the 1850s, and what we discovered was "yeah that made sense, they did the right thing."

Women have a lived experience we will never have. All we can do is listen and try to do something about it.

Six men on the first page
Advance Scouts in Space

The Space Age began on October 4, 1958, when the first artificial satellite—Sputnik I—was successfully launched. That proved that men could actually put something into space. Later satellites—the Explorers, the tiny Vanguard, and other Sputniks—proved it repeatedly.

Soon rockets will carry men up from Earth, out of the atmosphere for the first time. There are plans to construct big, permanent satellites, called space stations, where men can live and work in space. Probably most of the young people of today will live to see rockets land on the moon, and some will perhaps see pictures taken on the surface of Mars or Venus. For a long time men have dreamed of flight through space.

So far, however, real space flight has not begun. No men have yet gone beyond Earth's atmosphere, into true space. Some faint traces of that atmosphere extend as high as 600 miles above the surface of Earth. Even the little satellites do not leave it completely. Each time they travel around Earth they go out into true space, but then they dip back into the thin upper atmosphere. They are not intended to stay up for very long, either. Once their work of relaying information on space has been finished, they are supposed to fall back to Earth, burning up in the air like the Vanguard satellite in the picture.

These first satellites are advance scouts. It is as if men had to go into a new frontier—which space really is. From Earth, some knowledge can be gained of the radiation, temperature and other conditions of space. But scientists cannot learn enough about those conditions except by sending testing devices up for a complete study. Until such devices radio back the information, men cannot be sure that space flight will be safe. Hence, such advance scouts are needed.

I heard "manned" the other day. Nothing beats the man man man terminology of the 50s though.

Comic book reference. Dr Manhattan is the Superman equivalent of the Watchmen universe. He personally won the Vietnam War for Nixon, but finds life overrated, prefers Mars.
Page 293 of my copy of Watchmen, on Dr Manhattan's attitude to the existence of life

"In my opinion, it is a highly overrated phenomenon. Mars gets along perfectly without so much as a microorganism. See: there's the south pole beneath us now... No life. No life at all, but giant steps, ninety feet high and scoured by dust and wind into a constantly changing topographical map, flowing and shifting around the pole in ripples ten thousand years wide. Tell me... would it be greatly improved by an oil pipeline?"

Stop saying Humiliated. It's in every headline. That word implies the imposing of humility. The act of making someone humble. This is not that. These are unfeeling sociopaths, and humiliation and humility are unknown and unknowable.

Sell to both sides, double your profits, I can't see the downside. If this increases profitability, it's probably illegal for the company to NOT sell to both sides.
