I have been bitching about this since Survivor. I told my husband that reality TV was melting people’s brains. Reality TV speaks to & encouraged the worst of what makes us human. Hilary was right when she called Trump’s peeps deplorable. It was bad for her campaign, but it was true.

I spent 3 months in Europe over Christmas & and mid-February, which coincided with Trump’s constant threats to invade Greenland. THIS was the statement & the question made to me when I talked to Europeans and they understood that I hated what our country was doing. I had no answers for them.

I think it’s really cool that people my age seem to be front & center in this fight. And, yes, it is safer for 61 yr old white women like me to be out in the streets than than a marginalized, more vulnerable demographic. Not as easy on my knees but worth it.

I completely agree. I live in Chicago & one of my best friends lives in Portland. I lived 30 years in Florida before moving to Chicago. I’ve taken on the role of letting all my FL people know. Otherwise, they wouldn’t know.

Since my mom spent lots of time with her grandparents, she heard stories about her aunts who died as small children & how her grandmother lost the love of her life to TB. None of her family would have dreamed of shunning vaccines at that time.

My maternal grandmother’s two oldest sisters died in the 1918 flu. My great grandmother’s 1st husband died of TB. My maternal great grandfather lost his 1st wife & newborn daughter to the 1918 flu. My great grandmother raised his surviving 3 kids & together had my twins, including my grandmother.
