I'm excited to share this work, out now in PLOS Digital Health! Expanding on the Snyder Lab's previous work on pre-symptomatic detection of COVID-19 from smartwatch data, we show that wearable data could be used to derive an objective biomarker for Long COVID. journals.plos.org/digitalhealt...

Having a great time at the Precision Medicine World Conference! @carolynbertozzi.bskyverified.social shared therapeutic opportunities in glycoscience powered with bioorthogonal chemistry and @idasim.bsky.social discussed the future of harnessing computational tools for precision medicine!

Always a pleasure supporting community health events sponsored by the Bay Area Community Health Advisory Council (BACHAC)! Encouraging our local community to get the year off to a good start with health resources, screenings, exercise, and a panel on holistic health.

Chibuike Uwakwe, Chemistry/Biology Interface (CBI) fellow at Sarafan ChEM-H, on the exciting Stanford Chamber Chorale tours this year. @chibuikeuwakwe.bsky.social
I am most looking forward to touring Australia and New Zealand with the Stanford Chamber Chorale next summer! I'm so grateful for the community of singers with whom I've been able to make music on campus as a graduate student.

Chibuike Uwakwe, Chemistry/Biology Interface (CBI) fellow at Sarafan ChEM-H, on what he learned during his rotation in the Bao Group. @chibuikeuwakwe.bsky.social
During my rotation in the Bao Group, I was introduced to stretchable polymer transistors that self-heal autonomously. Learning about the material science underlying self-healing elastomers with potential applications in health monitoring and prosthetic sensory skin was incredibly cool.

Chibuike Uwakwe, Chemistry/Biology Interface (CBI) fellow at Sarafan ChEM-H, on how the brain-computer interface could bring new hope to ALS patients. @chibuikeuwakwe.bsky.social
The development of a brain-computer interface by scientists in the BrainGate consortium, capable of translating brain signals into speech with remarkable accuracy, truly stood out to me. Seeing that a man with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) could communicate within minutes of activating the system provided an exciting glimpse into the future of bioelectronics.
