Additionally, Cygnus is significant in astronomy research. Did you know that Cygnus contains a myriad of identified exoplanets? That's because this was around where NASA's Kepler Mission looked for planets in other stellar systems!

— Constellations The constellation Cygnus and its position in the middle-left of this piece is of particular importance. I chose Cygnus not just for its depiction of a flying swan, but also for containing the Northern Cross asterism — both of which are symbolic of Angel Chiisa's lore. :-)

— Composition The piece is divided in time and space through negative space and symmetry, with mirror images playing a major role. The arches act as both a division and a window. The starry night sky is referenced from an actual celestial map with real constellations!

— Design I used this project as a character study of Angel Chiisa's origin story. They weren't always the charming cavalier; their humble beginnings trace back to a reclusive academic. Their new design draws from professional academia, traditional Filipino attire, and historical artifacts.

Two versions of my angel OC, Chiisa, from different time periods stand between the negative space of four arches. The backdrop displays an array of constellations against a night sky.

The one on the left has short pink-brown hair with long side fringes. They are dressed in a sheer white vest top with an open back, brown shorts with a grid pattern, and golden tattooes and accessories. They hold their rapier downward like a stake.

The one on the right has long pink-brown hair braided into an updo with long side fringes. They wear a similar attire to the previous, but with an additional sheer cape draped over, adorned with a dark brown ribbon and golden star brooch on top. They also wear glasses with a golden chain. Rather than a rapier, they use a scepter fitted with an astrolabe on top.

On this Valentine's Day, I'm reflecting on what I value a lot in my relationships: intimacy. Whether it's a friend or a significant other, depth and closeness are really important to me. That's why I always portray Chiisa and Sen sharing some kind of intimacy together!
