This book came in yesterday and I sat with my stuffies, reading it in one sitting, and was once again reminded that reading is an experience where I can “visit rooms in my brain I otherwise have no access to”. I give this book 5 stars ⭐️

After chickens, I can now crochet a little monster keyring thingy for my friend as her birthday gift 😆 Tested with the car key to make sure it fits but she ended up using this monster to keep her TnG charm instead. No AI used; made with Genuine Clumsiness (and wrong stitches).

Nephew: can I have baobao (pick up)? Me: yes of course. Nephew: am I too heavy? Me: nope, that’s why I workout so I can always pick you up if you want me to. Realised that my nephew is only little for a little 🥲I love that I can bench + do weighted squats for 25kg easily now.

Spent my day off living my best retirement fantasy running a bookshop on wheels (and escaping my IRL responsibilities) when someone waltzed in for book recs! Yes, of course I’d be ever happy to recommend @hannaalkaf.bsky.social ‘s book in @tinybookshopgame.com 😍🇲🇾
Screenshot from the game “Tiny Bookshop” featuring a Malaysian book. The text reads:

THE WEIGHT OF OUR SKY
In this historical YA novel, follow Melati, a Malaysian girl with OCD, as she embarks on a journey to reunite with her mother during the brutal 1969 racial riots that engulfed the city of Kuala Lumpur.

So many people using genAI art and I’m just here reposting my old scribbles of the husband showing me where the wards were in his hospital when I was covering it during the peak of covid lockdown. Pen, notebook paper, and badly drawn bunny + hedgehog ❤️
Two panel drawing of a rabbit and a hedgehog in a hospital corridor.

The top panel shows a bunny lost in the way. The texts read: covering other hospital as MCO extends so I now spend time along the corridors getting lost. The speech bubble reads: where is this ward?

The bottom panel shows a hedgehog showing the bunny the way. The texts reads: here’s to knowing where all the wards are sooner

The speech bubbles read:

The year is 2025. We learned so much about autism that we no longer look at support from a ‘curative’ angle. We don’t write “eye-contact” or “verbally requests I want” goals. SLTs write goals to support someone’s preferences in communication. Link: shorturl.at/QAryJ
Document from RCSLT:

Intervention and support
Please note: any interventions mentioned on this page are provided for informational purposes only.
No endorsement is expressed or implied.
Principles of neurodiversity-informed intervention and support
• SLTs have a responsibility to openly discuss options for support and intervention with autistic people and/or their parents or carers where appropriate. These balanced discussions should
include advantages, disadvantages and current thinking on particular approaches to ensure that choice is well informed and meets the needs of the specific individual.
• Interventions and outcomes are an agreed preference and priority of the autistic individual and/or their parent/carer/advocate where they are unable to make this decision. In adults without the capacity to consent, decisions about interventions and outcomes will be in their best interest (see NOTE below).
• Successful communication and interaction depends on all people involved, including the autistic person and everyone in their environment. SLTs have a role supporting communication and interaction changes and adaptations in all relevant people.
Neurodiversity-informed interventions:
• focus on harnessing a person's strengths, interests and abilities and functional needs.
• aim to improve a person's quality of life and reduce risk.

• aim to provide support and adaptations that affirm an individual's neurodivergent identity.

• are personalised to the needs of that autistic person at that time; no single approach is

recommended for all autistic people all the time.

• are evidence-informed (triangulating best scientific evidence, clinical experience and the

individual's values).

• are trauma-informed, taking account of any Adverse Childhood Events (ACEs) and any other
trauma inducing experiences, and personalised to avoid risk of re-traumatisation.
NOTE:
Best interest decisions are made when an adult is judged not to have capacity for a specific decision (See NICE G…
